Little Miss Sunshine-not all that and did not live up to the hype
Sideways- so damn boring
I agree with person who said My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Ghost is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

I didn't enjoy Silver Linings Playbook, either.

The Shawshank Redemption: If you think it's deep, I think you're an idiot.

The Blair Witch Project (maybe if I had seen it with no prior knowledge, but it was already hyped and we were so disappointed).

Funny, some of my favorite movies are listed here. Different strokes for different folks. Like music (or any other art), its in the eye of the beholder, and some things resonate with some and not with others.

Lost in Translation is one of my all-time favorites. Gave it to a friend to watch, and she was completely floored that I thought it was any good. She just said that nothing happened in the movie, it was boring. I guess I could relate to the characters, and she couldn't.

A million times yes. Horrible script, over the top acting. Good special effects wasted on James Cameron's massive ego trip.

Titanic -- WORST MOVIE EVER. i was bored within the first 5 minutes. (and i was their target audience.)

so blown away by this list!

First of all, Legends of the Fall is horrific.

But some of my favs are on this list!
Sex lies videotape (not that sexy but young james spader is awesome)
fish called wanda (anything with kevin kline, really)
out of africa (this and the book, the book is even better though)
lost in translation (subtle)
pulp fiction
silver linings playbook
sideways

I'll give you one that did not live up to expectations: Argo. Some parts were thrilling but it is not a better movie than say, Zero Dark Thirty or Silver Linings.

Totally agree that Avatar blows.

Lost in Translation is BORING! It's mostly shots of Scarlett Johansen in her underwear looking out a hotel window. ZZZZZ (Sofia Coppola is a crappy director, but at least nepotism is alive and well in Hollywood.)

Any of the more recent Star Wars movies. I like to pretend those never happened, especially the last one - fucking awful.

I HATED Bridesmaids. HATED it. Kept wondering where the funny parts were. It was a painful 2 hours.

Agree that they were terrible, but I don't know anyone who thinks highly of them in the first place.

Agree that Lost in Translation was awful but Argo, Sideways, and Shawshank Redemption are 3 of my all-time favorites. And no, Shawshank isn't "deep" but still a great story. Not to mention that I love Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman.
