When you're a MIL, what will your DIL think of you?

I have two sons and whether I end up with DILs or SILs, I hope they think the same of me as I do of my MIL. She is truly a second mom to me and has always treated me with love and respect. Probably more than I deserve. She had an awful MIL so she tends to overcompensate but I love her for it. She just wants to have the opposite relationship with me. And she does. She's just a good person--she's a hard person not to like.

My grandmother was a great MIL and I was raised to treat your ILs with respect. So my mother set a very good example, even thought she and my SIL aren't the best of friends. They get along fine but they are very different.

This. And that I will love her unconditionally because my son loves her unconditionally. We may not be besties but I will always have her back.
