Also, and I realize anecdote does not equal data, but the last time I brought in my Apple laptop to the Genius Bar to get a new something cord, the Genius guy was SHOCKED that it was 3 years old and the battery hadn't exploded yet. He actually called a coworker over to show him my ancient, **3-year old** laptop that hadn't burnt out yet. Think about that for a minute.
huh, my husband has an original iphone that is still going strong. My ibook G4 from 2004 still works just fine (although I did buy a macbook to replace it for photo/graphic work).
