What name brands actually reflect quality?

Sorry, disagree. Ikea??? You get what you pay for. Also some C&B stuff you have to assemble yourself. Not sure I would say that was "quality."

Durability -- which is seems like we're talking about there, right? -- no. Apples execs will tell you themselves that many of their products are expected to self combust after one year's use (iPhone). This is fact.

Also, and I realize anecdote does not equal data, but the last time I brought in my Apple laptop to the Genius Bar to get a new something cord, the Genius guy was SHOCKED that it was 3 years old and the battery hadn't exploded yet. He actually called a coworker over to show him my ancient, **3-year old** laptop that hadn't burnt out yet. Think about that for a minute.

I actually have a 2006 iPod (3rd generation) that still works.

Hanna Andersson clothes for kids. They will outlast all of us.

Patagonia. Ditto. And if the material gives way after 10 years of heavy use, you can get a free replacement.

Subaru: great value for the $. Just wish they got better mileage and were working on a hybrid.

Last summer I got her 5 dresses at the warehouse sale, used them as everyday play clothes. Despite the dirt and grim at the park and a very messy 18mo eater they look great.

Your daughter wears Lily to the playground? Well, now I've seen it all.

It's the way they drive that's high quality. Mine havent had many problems, but true they are expensive. They also ruined me for driving all the front wheel drive mainstream rental cars that feel cheap. I can understand if others don't get it.

Mine wears Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana. Am I supposed to be saving those for important occasions?
