Please stop giving your suburban friends DC guest parking passes

15:48 - don.t be stupid. Do you know what a new windshield for a new Benny would cost you? Just a friendly warning, as you seem to be in a different (ahem) "market".

I would think that those who can afford the "different (ahem) market" of a "new Benny" can afford to pay for legal parking and not stoop to scamming in the visitor pass black (ahem) market.

There are, of course, more friendly ways to retaliate. A tire deflation device (sold at Pep Boys) is quick and effective. Of course, then you may find the new Benny driver (with her scammed parking pass) having to park a little longer than she anticipated....

I'll keep breaking the rules as long as DC lets me break them.

Seeing that DC still has an issue with females getting robbed in Dupont at 9 pm, the parkers have nothing to worry about in the near future.

There's a car with Delaware license plates and a DC visitor parking placard that's parked every weekday morning on Massachusetts Ave. next to the AU law school. It seems that even people who "follow the law" don't follow the law!

OP sounds like she's barking up the wrong tree. Silly girl. She would be better off spending her time contacting people who can actually do something about it. Or maybe there is no one, which is why she is resorting to threats and stupid enough to put them on the internet. Silly girl.

We have a permanent visitor's pass that our nanny uses on a daily basis. That's what they're for!

My DD went to NCS. NCS students get parking in the Cathedral garage. STA students also get free parking.

OP doesn't sound that bright. If she threatens one person, there is just going to be another, then another. If they are from MD or VA, they may carry concealed, then buh-bye OP. OP, find a hobby, will ya? Your stalking your neighbors is clearly not working and just rendering you more useless.

I just looked at the back of the new pass we received. The only "rule" which may be broken is if you sell it. There is absolutely nothing that says you can't give your pass to your "visitor" so they can park every day -- nope, doesn't even exclude commuters.

Sorry, OP you are just full of it. No one is towing because you called 311.

OP is Mrs. Kravitz gone awry. Someone call Bewitched to "spell" her OP of the neighborhood. Clearly she has no friends there. Or maybe OP thinks she's Bewitched.......

Batsh*t I tell you.

OP, no one likes busy bodies like you. Get it?

Anonymous wrote:Why does this bother people so much? None of you are complaining that residents can't find parking places, which would seem to be the only legitimate concern. Otherwise you're just mad that you think someone else is getting away with something.

There are a few people who park on my street and take the bus, but frankly the much bigger problem is all the churchgoers who park on my street on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The finding parking is a big issue for some neighborhoods. I live close in to the Capitol and it can be a nightmare. The recent only Zone 6 parking has helped.

Exactly. This is why the OP is full of it. Parking enforcement doesn't work like that. If they see a guest pass they just keep walking.

Again you fail to see the point. The nanny working for someone in a residential neighborhood is ok. The person who parks on Albermarle and then takes the metro downtown is NOT OK. Jesus are you people that daft?

I wish I had a warning for that one, almost spit my coffee out. Are you really honestly that obtuse?

I hate people who use the word obtuse.

Are you an idiot? Why would they have guest passes? I know for a fact that people give or sell them to commuters who want to break the law.

You know this for a fact? Prove it.

I'm not the OP, but I work in zone 6 and I have a coworker who lives in outside the District who uses one of those residential passes that she got from a friend. (It's not a guest pass-- those only last for two weeks. These are residential passes that last for a year.) They are horribly misused and I don't know why the city sends these things out.

As for "prove it"-- what do you want, video evidence?

I don't understand this. If she lives outside the District she would have out-of-state plates. The out-of-state plates would invalidate the residential sticker. If she lived somewhere within the district, oh well.

Hey Moron, we're not talking about parking stickers, we're talking about visitor passes. Idiot.

You clearly don't live in the city where parking is at a premium. I agree with OP, it's super annoying.

I did until recently. If you don't like city living, and the parking issues that come with it, don't live there.

This is the dumbest argument ever. It's not that simple, honey.
