PP, is this all that defines quality of life for you? "Much nicer houses for half the cost"? What about things like culture, good schools, diversity? I'd be the first to admit that DC ain't London, but, I'd take DC with all its assholes over Bumfuck, PA, thank you very much. |

Ditto PP.
I always wonder what people DO on the weekends in those places. |
| I thought I would agree with this thread, but the OP is just another flavor of the same problem: complain, criticize, and tell people they don't belong. |

19:27 - ITA. OP is the problem. She wouldn't know a solution if it hit her off the head. Maybe it should.
I know plenty of happy people who live here and still don't like it here. It's not mandated by even you, OP. Snicker. |
What annoys us is people who complain so much about DC yet have no where else to go. Make the best of DC or be a rebel quit your job and move to your dream location. I hear Athens is super this time of year. Lots of jobs there. .

Why does bumblefuck have to be called at as in PA. We all know bumblefuck is in Ohio.
Where the Bengals play... Unless of course you meant east bumblefuck ... Where the Eagles Play
|
I always thought that bumblefuck was near Shittsburgh where the "Stealers" play. |

17:49 - I'm the poster you quoted and I love it here. I have a $600K house that is ridiculously small and run-down compared to the houses my friends back home have for less than half the cost. That's a downside of living here, as is the traffic. I put up with those things because I love it here. I love the culture, the people, all sorts of other less definable things. I would never leave here.
Just saying that I can see at least one reason why people would hate it here. If you make very little money and your only options are living very far out or in a tiny, not-nice place, this area would be less attractive. A comfortable home is a big deal for a lot of people. |
