Stop Bitching, Start Packing

I grew up. I have lived many other places in my adult life. I like it here. It is a good mix of a lot of things and the people are very educated.

It is a great fit for me and my family is here too.

I don't mind when ppl trash it on this forum because I am happy. It's not for everyone. Then again- some people are not happy no matter where they live.

Not liking living in a city like DC does not in any way translate into "well, you're just a miserable person."

OP, it's not your problem. Why do you care?

Really, get a hobby.

Yeah, but DC will still be a miserable place to be because you'll still be here.

So does your bitching about other people's bitching. People don't always like where they are in the moment, and have reasons they can't do anything about it right now to satisfy you. Believe me, anyone who hates this place is making plans to leave. It just takes a while. Why do people take such offense when people don't fall on their knees and express constant gratitude for living here? It's a city for crying out loud. It's nothing personal.

I was just about to post the same thing. I'm perplexed why people who are so bothered by the choices of others continue to open and read the posts about moving away from D.C. It's just plain weird.

But you won't know it because you can leave it all behind. Seriously, stop paying attention to a place you don't even like.

Then you're only wasting your time, but I guess that's your choice.

I imagine this is a spinoff fueled by the "People who have moved away from DC" thread. The OP of that thread never said she hated it here or trashed your beloved city. You're projecting, and you're a wee bit crazy.

I've achieved a lot of professional success here, started a family here, and am so ready to leave. I'm moving in a month to a different city and am really looking forward to going back there. The economy is strong there and I have a great job to move to, but surely I would not have had the opportunities there that I had here for the last decade. In that regard, DC is pretty unique. I'm glad I was here, and glad I'm leaving.

Not moving to Bumble----. Moving to a real city, by the way. DC is not a city. It's a metropolitan sprawl.

Well, I grew up here but I don't like it so...am I allowed to bitch about DC? I have nowhere to move back to!

We plan on moving in a few years, it's really not the city, it's most of the people like the OP. The "love it or leave it" who make this place so horrible to live in.
