| You hate DC? Stop bitching, pack your shit up and move back to Bumblefuck, PA. Oh, wait...There are no jobs in your flyover town. You need to be here. So STFU and get back to work you government lackey. DC is such a great city. You have very "City" like neighborhoods like Georgetown, Dupont, Logan, Capitol Hill, very suburban 'hoods like Palisades, Spring Valley, Takoma, CCDC, Hill Crest and everything in between. The people who hate it here are those who just didn't succeed at what they came out here to do. Sorry you're not the top LA for a Senator, or you didn't make Post Master General. Suck it up. |
| You need some sex. |
I agree. I grew up here and I like it. I don't appreciate everyone from Bumblefuck appearing here as if they were God's gift and clogging up my raods, jacking up prices, and then complaining about it. You don't like it? Go home. Good riddance. We won't miss you. Here's a clue: no one cares. |
It think that goes for both posters! Angry much? |
Well, I didn't grow up here and I don't like it. Who cares? You wouldn't like where I'm from and I don't like where you're from, and that's the way life is. As soon as we can, we're outta here. And I'll let the door hit me as much as it wants to on the way outta here. Just as long as I'm gone. |
| I don't hate DC, but I'm certainly not living here because I love the city. Life is a series of compromises. The DC area is the best place for our family because of jobs. If DH and I could find similar jobs in other cities we would leave in a heartbeat. I'm sorry if that bothers you. |
| New poster - what bothers me is the negativity of some people who seem so miserable here. Sorry, but if you're THAT miserable and you constantly complain about the city - then do something about it! It's a bit pathetic and becomes draining after a while. |
So does your bitching about other people's bitching. People don't always like where they are in the moment, and have reasons they can't do anything about it right now to satisfy you. Believe me, anyone who hates this place is making plans to leave. It just takes a while. Why do people take such offense when people don't fall on their knees and express constant gratitude for living here? It's a city for crying out loud. It's nothing personal. |
I agree with this 100 percent. DC is ok, but I definitely wouldn't pick it if not for the unique job opportunities. |
| Op you do realize that many people here aren't from smaller towns but bigger, more sophisticated cities? |
No, OP's unbelievably limited view has DC as the center of his or her universe and can't fathom that other cities are so much better. |
Soooo... Why don't they go back to their better cities. Oh that's right because they wouldn't have a job in their nirvana. |
You understand the word compromise right? If I was single, I wouldn't be here at all. Just because my husband's job has forced us here for now doesn't mean I like it. I could do my job anywhere, teleworking. So yeah, I would have a job. My husband is waiting for two more years before he can transfer, so yeah, he'll have a job too. Why do you CARE? |
| Why do you all care that we don't like you here? Just go back where you came from, and leave us to our roads, our homes, our good schools, etc. Bye! |
It just bugs the shit out of you that people hate it here, doesn't it. |
