Where are you people getting 80 pounds? I read it was 40, which is what I gained, even though I watched what I ate. And for me, it melted off very quickly (breastfeeding made me a rail), so I wish I hadn't spent so much of my pregnancy worried that I'd gone over the 30-pound benchmark.

Agree this thread is way over-the-top mean. Just because you can be a bitch, doesn't mean you should be. And I have a hard time believing that anyone who looks and feels great after giving birth would have the urge to be so nasty here.

I agree. I think she should have her baby and post-pone the marriage indefinitely. Why bother. It will save her a lot of money, time and heartache in the future.

This is such a mean thread. Who cares if she gained 40 or 80lbs? She gained a lot of weight during her pregnancy, hopefully, she'll be able to lose it , assuming thats what she wants to do.

The things is, this girl WANTS to be married. It is very clear that being part of a couple - and married - is a "goal" for her and she is NOT the type to be happy to be a single mom. Since she is this way, she should have been smart enough to get merried BEFORE getting pregnant. No way to insure you are married with kids unless you do the marriage bit first. Once again, she made a collussal and clueless realtionship decision. Why doesnt she learn from her mistakes? Its fine (in my book) to make mistakes but learn from them for pete's sake.

She may have the money and fame but that doesnt mean he will not walk away after she has the baby, has and extra 80 lbs on her, AND is a grumpy post partum mom (which happens to lots of us). She will be a very sad depressed single mom if that happens. And I can not imagine her parents will be very nice about it. They are from the "that is shameful" background (my camp too, actually, with some exceptions of course) which doesnt just magically change because you are a celebrity. If this goes the way many seem to think it will, she is not going to be a happy camper. It makes me sad for her that she doesnt seem to have anyone really guiding her to make smart decisions.

I guess at least Jessica waited until later in life. Ashlee was barely 21, not much of a career, did the quickie wedding and was divorced in like 18 months. look, it is what it is. They both became pregnant before he put a ring on it? Not really much better. I mean, there is really not another way to say it. Neither of them were married before becoming pregnant, which is pretty much a no-no in the church-going community - you know, the whole premarital sex thing being frowned upon thing?

I'm more annoyed by the "pregnant, but engaged" announcements in Hollywood of late. Look, we get it - you got pregnant and didn't mean it. You don't HAVE to marry the dude to make it "better." I wish they would stop pretending like "we meant to do that because we're SOOO in love."
