Jessica Simpson's baby....

I like the name. I think it's a very strong name for a woman. But I like androgynous names anyway. My husband nearly shat himself when I suggested Howard for our daughter.

Apple never took off. Moses didn't either but I suppose JS is a bigger celebrity than Gywneth.

I bet this inspires hoards of WT to continue with giving boys names to girls. Just when I thought Taylor and Riley and Quinn her horrible to give to girls, here comes an onslaught of Maxwells and Drews!

Wait, what?!?!? It's a girl?? When I heard the name I thought she had a boy...one reason to wait to name your baby until you actually know the sex of it. What a nut job!!
I knew she wasn't very smart, but seriously...

I thought it was cute too until I saw it was a girl. Very weird.

In one of her many pregnancy talk show/interview appearances, Jessica said they will call the baby "Maxi" as a nickname. Maxi-Pad, first thing that came to my mind.

And it seem, for the most part, the general public likes Jessica, even if they find her a bit ditzy. Gywneth however, comes across as an insufferable bitch.

I doubt this name is going to catch on. Maybe a little bit of an uptick, but it is still pretty strange to name a girl Maxwell.

She is a FOOL and the name choice for her baby girl just re-iterated that.

Obviously I am in the minority, but I kind of like Maxwell or Maxie. Not sure if I would name my own baby that, but I think it's cute.

Then again, I have always wanted to name my baby girl (if I ever have one) Avery, so apparently I am in the WT club.

I guess at least Jessica waited until later in life. Ashlee was barely 21, not much of a career, did the quickie wedding and was divorced in like 18 months. I think Jessica wants to be married pretty badly, I just hope he's a long term guy and not a sperm donor who is out of the picture not long after she's popped the kid out after the obligatory "yeah, I'm knocked up but it's totally ok because hey... We're engaged!" period is over.

The most antiquated word still in today's vernacular. Let's get rid of it, please.

look, it is what it is. They both became pregnant before he put a ring on it? Not really much better. I mean, there is really not another way to say it. Neither of them were married before becoming pregnant, which is pretty much a no-no in the church-going community - you know, the whole premarital sex thing being frowned upon thing?

I'm more annoyed by the "pregnant, but engaged" announcements in Hollywood of late. Look, we get it - you got pregnant and didn't mean it. You don't HAVE to marry the dude to make it "better." I wish they would stop pretending like "we meant to do that because we're SOOO in love."

*snort* Jessica Alba naming her first daughter "Honor" always gave me a chuckle.

^^^^^made me laugh!

Jessica is HUGE. I only looked about 6 months pregnant the DAY I gave birth to my son...but then again I'm 5'10" and carried really well. Short preggos just look like the marshmellow man, generally. There are the few lucky shorties ;o)

I hate the name. They could've at least chosen a feminine middle name. Choosing masculine names for girls insinuates there is something weak/wrong with feminine names.

I was a Michelin Man meets the Pillsbury Doughboy pregnant at 5'2. I carry all over.

I think Reid/Reed would probably be my favorite male name on a female.

Yup.

I love how people call it "gender neutral". No, what you mean is not feminine. You want people to think your girl is a boy when they send off applications.
