Many ethnic minorities are not very welcoming to African Americans. People catch on that the closer they associate with AA, the lower they are percieved wrt social status.

Op--go where your children will be the most loved and nurtured. In this scenario, their parents just died. They need love and affection.

Have you spoken with the parties in question re whether they could take your children and how they would anticipate raising them? What about finances--are yours set up so that your children will be taken care of financially were something to happen to you?

That said, don't put this decision off. If you and your husband die tomorrow you will have NO say as to what happens to your children if you haven't formalized your wished.
