America- Horse With No Name.

Paul McCartney first solo album. Bowl of cherries or currants on the cover. The whole album slays me to this day.

Those aren't bad at all.

"Damn, Wish I Were Your Lover" by Lita Ford

Indelibly imprinted on my teenage brain as the soundtrack to the seen from Beverly Hills 90201 when Dylan sleeps with Kelly while Brenda is away for the summer in Paris. Ahh, the shame and horror...that I hold onto this musical memory (not the cheating).

Oops, sorry, I am the PP--means Sophie B. Hawkins. But I also wish I could erase Lita Ford from my brain.

America- Horse With No Name.

Paul McCartney first solo album. Bowl of cherries or currants on the cover. The whole album slays me to this day.

On the first part of the journey,
I was looking at all the life.
There were plants and birds. and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The first thing I met, was a fly with a buzz,
And the sky, with no clouds.
The heat was hot, and the ground was dry,
But the air was full of sound.

I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

After two days, in the desert sun,
My skin began to turn red.
After three days, in the desert fun,
I was looking at a river bed.
And the story it told, of a river that flowed,
Made me sad to think it was dead.

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la

After nine days, I let the horse run free,
'Cause the desert had turned to sea.
There were plants and birds, and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The ocean is a desert, with its life underground,
And a perfect disguise above.
Under the cities lies, a heart made of ground,
But the humans will give no love.

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.

La la, la...

I have the winner....I swear. I'm sure that not one of you has heard of it. Watch on YouTube and report back.

My husband is horrified...he refuses to add it to any of our playlists.

Drum roll please...

Carolina in the Pines by Michael Martin Murphey

She came to me, said she knew me
Said she'd known me a long time
And she spoke of being in love
With every mountain she had climbed
And she talked of trails she'd walked up
Far above the timberline
From that night on I knew I'd write songs
With Carolina in the pines

There's a new moon on the fourteenth
First Quarter the 21st
And the full moon in the last week
Brings a fullness to this earth
There's no guesswork in the clockwork

On the worlds part or mine
There are nights I only feel right
With Carolina in the pines

When the frost shows on the windows
And the wood stove smokes and glows
As the fire grows we can warm our souls
Watching rainbows in the cove
And well talk of trails weve walked up
Far above the timberline
There are nights I only feel right
With Carolina in the pines

I LOVE THIS SONG
