Born and raised in the DC burbs. Still live here and love it. Did my time in DC after I decided I hated the boring sameness. For me, the idea of the city trumped the reality. I learned to loathe the inept government, the inconvenience of parking and the resulting parking tickets, having to drive out to the burbs for decently priced essentials. I had my car broken into too many times..one time i even had a box of castoffs bound for Goodwill that some poor souls boosted from my car. Saved me the trip, thanks!
Granted, I didn't live in Spring Valley, but in Adams Morgan so it's probably a better (and more suburban) experience. But I'm happy with my dorky suburban existence. Pass the salad and breadsticks at the Olive Garden! |
