I know not every parent believes in "Physically Disciplining" your child

Evidence that the 100 ass whoopings didn't quite work.

Relax poster DedicatedDad. Many of these hideos posters attacking you were home-schooled by their stay at home moms.

It's beginning to look like 100 ass whoopings will tend to leave you with serious anger management issues, though. Heh.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "SERIOUS" issues....but I find it hard to hold my tongue on semi anonymous internet forums....my threshold for bullshit is vastly lower when dealing with anonymous blowhards.

I'm rather disgusted by what I've read in this thread from dedicateddad. It brings to mind a very unpleasant event from a few months ago. My DS, Christopher, once owed his friend Gustoff a substantial amount of money. Gustoff's parents were very kind, at first, by alerting us to this debt and we were able to work something out between the two, but at the very end of the phone call, Gustoff's father made an offhand, flippant remark that left my blood boiling. He suggested we physically discipline Christopher (13 years old now) as he does Gustoff (14!!) and maybe Christopher would make it through life without being chased by debt collectors. I tried to explain away this man suggesting my DS would grow up to be a deadbeat as just a cultural barrier (the family is from Austria) but I couldn't talk myself out of the rage of the mere suggestion! I still don't even know how my son came to owe this kid $246. Christopher says it was the toll required for some social event? What sort of event would a 13 year old have that costs that much money???

I don't think the father should physically discipline Christopher...I think Gustav should. $246 is a lot of money.

With my last post in mind what is your reaction to a situation where two teenage boys get into it....like if Christopher couldn't get Gustav his money and Gustav beat him up over it and gave him a deadline to have his money or it would happen again...What would you do?
