The hold up is they were aiming too high after years of blowing smoke up their own aases. They will end up getting committed somewhere. Just not where they thought they would, and with less scholarship money.

Times have changed and the timeline has shrunk a lot. There have already been 50 players commit to P4 schools in 5 days. There is an account on X that tracks it all. Last year it took 35 days to reach that many. Most VDA players expected that would be them. FOMO is running high right now.

What’s better? Players committing without a visit is it necessarily a flex.

“Soonest commitment” isn’t a thing anyone cares about except on DCUM.

DD committed last year as a 2027 and there was no talk about players committing or not committing in June. Nobody on her team committed last year until the end of July.

In case you are wondering. Top recruits get private camp invites. Their list narrows to top 5 schools, maybe more, maybe less. June 15, those players and coaches already know where they are headed. Hence, the fast announcements.

Not everyone has the available funds to pay for all of this travel soccer and then multiple camp invitations with flight and hotel requirements during their sophomore year. Many top players wait until the official visit window opens and take their visits on the school’s dime.

Not a VDA parent. I am local though and find the fascination and obsession from some of you with Vda to be disturbing. If you hate them so much, then stop talking about them and let them wither away.
