+1 They're not hard to make. My family likes what we call "rough mash", where I don't peel them. For company I make them peeled and pressed through ricer, like what you get in a restaurant--or I ask guests ahead of time which way they like. |
Same lol. I had no idea anyone who wasn’t poor would make boxes mashed potatoes. So gross |
Not pp but also do it this way. I don’t get lumps in mine either. I use this type of masher: https://www.target.com/p/chef-craft-stainless-steel-small-hole-hand-potato-masher-1-pack/-/A-1007396859 |
I find it easier bc it sits it bakes until done. Trying to mash potatoes when everything else is done is a pain. |
You can’t scroll and peel. Why are you people lying? |
Never knew it was a thing til my 30s and it screams poverty which is weird because potatoes are one of the cheapest |
Oh heck no! The little packages are amazing. |
*things you can buy. Mind a little blown the DCUM "600k a year is a pittance" crowd is eating potatoes from a box. |
+1 |
Some of us make 600k a year because we work 80 hours a week. |
| Usually start with deli counter mashed potatoes (so real potato but already boiled/mashed, etc) then jazzed up with seasoning, black garlic, cream cheese. |
| I have only made real ones. Where do they even sell a box of them? I actually don’t know where they would be in a grocery store. |
|
I only like real potato mashed potatoes but I absolutely hate making them. Just everything about the process.
I discovered the boxed kind a few years ago and have used them as a side when in a hurry. It definitely does feel trashy but I don’t care if it gets me out of mashing potatoes. |
Then you can buy mashed potatoes from a restaurant and not have to make your own. Congrats. |
Why do you want to work 80 hours a week? |
