Yes, but a lot depends on why he didn’t see the field. It’s also very possible he just isn’t that great, and nothing is going to make a difference.

Take a look at NL 2027 roster and that team has consistently been in the top 10 non national club teams for years. For the most part, the kids who got minutes for varsity as sophomores are playing at better schools: Gtown, Cornell, Brown 2x, Dartmouth. The kids that didn't are going to good, but not the top end, schools: Nova 2x, St. Bon, Holy Cross, Delaware, CNU, Mercer. Then there are players who played as sophomores where the lax world doesn't respect and are uncommitted: the 2 publics (one was a very late CNU), H (reclassing). The specialty players are a different category bc of the limited roster spots.

Also, don't discount your high school will inadvertently hurt your kid's chances bc they can't handle the "why didn't this player play." They'll likely say something along the lines of "he wasn't good enough." High school PE teachers as coaches aren't very adept at the nuance.

Bottom line - getting on the field as a sophomore means a lot. College coaches aren't that smart and will rely on, if he played then he must be better logic.

It matters how kids actually play in front of which coaches and what the coaches are looking for in players on and off the field. Luck matters too.

For the most part, the sophomores that are going to commit to the big schools do find their way on the field. So it’s hard to separate out the fact that class of kids are, on average, better from the fact of playing time independently impacting the process. Overall, there is a lot of luck throughout the process in terms of high school roster luck, playing well at the exact moment a coach from a school you are targeting is watching, etc. What kids commit and do not commit rather is that surprising but what kids commit to ivys or ACC vs. Patriot can only have a fair amount of luck.

Looks like all the local teams are entered in the Red Session.

based on the number of kids St Johns has attending the "best in class" event coming up, the Cadets' future looks very bright, especially with their 2030 class!

People said the is about the 2026 class too. So championships don’t always follow. But people also said this about their 2022, so sometimes they do.

Correlation does not equal causation.

The SJC hype machine on here makes its program look rather lame and if I were Speaks, I'd be embarrassed.

The Cadets haven't won crap since the 2023 season and continue to pound their chest about the storybook 2022 season. Nothing new.

Speaking of SJC, who is transferring out and where are they going?

And who is transferring out of GC when Dane leaves?

Somehow I doubt Speaks or any other area HCs are too worried about DCUM posts. Coming up short of PVI this year isn't catastrophic, but they certainly want to secure another WCAC banner.

As for another recent post, is Dane in the Bullis conversation?

Dane is in the mix. Huge mistake if Bullis picks him. Just huge.

Why do you say that?

He’s not
