Yep, a bunch of people missed the whole thing about George Washington vaccinating American troops for smallpox, which helped us win the Revolutionary War. Of course, these are the same people who applaud the Boston Tea Party, but lose their minds over property damage in the George Floyd protests. There is zero intellectual consistency (or even the ability to understand they are being intellectually inconsistent to think through a but why that might be).

They don’t trust medicine but then when the get sick where do they go? To the hospital! They are just like my MAGA friend from high school who is pleased as punch her husband can get an ACA plan even through he had a stroke.

There are plenty of commenters on here that unequivocally state that they actively take vaccines and have been - however the way COVID was handled makes them question some aspects of "blind" vaccination. The rhetoric was there (in the US too), it wasn't implemented in the US, but it happened in other countries. The internet is forever and there are plenty of videos of CNN, MSNBC, WAPO, etc talking heads discussing this specific topic on prime time broadcasts. It's not a left/right issue - it's facts and it made folks see how quickly all the scared people just comply and then push to make compliance mandatory.

My MAGA neighbor was cheering on the NIH cuts last year against “woke science”. Now his wife is ill with a rare disease and he’s asking us to help him look up clinical trials. 🙄
