White women stupidly elected a conman felon.

White people need to clean up their mess.

Black women can rightfully put their feet up.

—white woman who understood the assignment and is giving a side-eye to her very disappointing fellow GenX

What’s up with people announcing what age group they’re in by way of the name given. Why not just say I’m 55 if you think age is relevant.

No, Black women cannot put their feet up. They live in this country. Everyone needs to step up. The White women mostly in northern states who voted for Harris are stepping up.

No, you cannot talk to people like that. There is a problem with the No King rallies attracting a certain segment only. Why? Figure it out. If you don’t want to figure it out then go ahead and scream into the wind at a rally that accomplishes nothing.

Ok. Putting feet up is definitely the answer. That's going to get so much done.

It would have the same outcome.

It helps energize the vote. At this point, the idea of trudging down to the polls to vote for a republican is absolutely depressing. The task is to energize people to vote for Democrats which is possible and this will assist.

There in lies the problem.

The Demcoratic party has done nothing to differentiate themselves from the Republican Party. Look at our leadership. You all are grasping at straws. It’s so pitiful and pathetic.

Actually, it has. Those of us who pay more attention to policies and accomplishments than rallies and t-shirts know this very well.

Black woman here. Not risking my life for yall anymore, thanks. We've done our marching, our campaigning, our pleading for change, our voting. Yall rejected us and voted for Trump. Like PP said, you all can fix it now. I wash my hands of it. I will do what I can to protect myself and my family, and if things get bad enough I will leave. But I couldn't give less of AF about this country and most of the people in it at this point, and I too am side eyeing most white people over the age of 35. You all say the right things, but the votes reveal the truth. And most white people might not hate people like me, but you don't care enough to sacrifice literally anything. So I'm done. Clean up your own mess.

Everyone, welcome Michelle Obama to the chat.

Erika? Is that you? White sheets and all.

Just stop it with the Michelle Obama trope.

And the alleged community organizer seems to have some sort of spelling tic - it's the Democratic Party.

You need to fix the problem in the Demcoratic party and then you’ll be able to get everybody on board. Until you do that you can have all the No King rallies you want. You’re not going to attract people beyond your own kind.

How many times do we have to remind you that Dems have flipped 28 seats in the last year?!

Those are not Dems like Pete Buttigieg, Josh Shapiro and Gavin Newsom that the DNC shoves down our throats every 4 years.

If you are truly a community organizer, you are terrible at it.

Pete Buttigieg ran for president and accepted a cabinet position. That’s a pretty standard path for a political career. Shapiro and Newsom are both governors in states where I do not live. So far, none of these politicians have been “shoved down” my particular throat in any way.

Has your experience somehow been different? I’m being pedantic, but you seem awfully comfortable with using words like “our” for something that might really be a “you” concern.

Thank you for organizing. Your frustration is valid, but there is another layer to protests.

Not sure if you’re aware that an economic strike is happening organically. A hidden strike is already disrupting the economy using a bottom-up approach.

People have just stopped participating in the market, rather than waiting for authorized work stoppages. A cumulative, slow withdrawal of labor and consumption encourages less spending.

If a third of the population reduces their consumption by 10% for over a month, it will make a substantial impact.

Organizers:
https://generalstrikeus.com/ is coordinating a national general strike by gathering "strike cards" to build a national shutdown strategy.

Fasting Fridays encourages no spend Fridays, supporting only small, local businesses and marginalized communities. Its initiative is aimed at protesting white nationalism, corporate power, and influencing government policy on ICE raids.

Day of Truth and Freedom is similar to the March 2026 ICE Out strike. A national shutdown to protest federal immigration actions and support a general strike structure.

The People's Union continues promoting economic blackouts.

All of Us promotes a comprehensive halt to consumer spending and impacting corporate profits.

Unions and independent activists resurged in 2025-26 with a +13% increase in workers involved in major stoppages.

But it’s not true that these protests only attract a certain segment of the population. Have you been to one? Also, looking forward to some former MAGA joining this one. They might have some excellent signs! Like the “I’m an idiot” PA woman. And they will be welcome. It’s time for all hands on deck at this point.

Yes, my friend dragged me to one.

The only women of color I saw were of a certain age and married to white men.

Ah, so you went to a teeny tiny protest like the ones at the Kennedy Warren — and are now making massive assumptions. Got it.

We need a “no war” protest instead. Guarantee we’d get people from all parties. Nobody wants this war, and the rest of the world needs to see our protest.

Sounds downright marxist.

"The People's Union"?

The anti-war effort would certainly be helped by the anti-king effort.

+1. Was going to say, why call it “No Kings?” I get the meaning but I REALLY care about stopping waste of taxes on this war.

Seems to me that if we take down those that are acting like kings, we will also stop the Iran war. Executive branch is acting like a monarchy right now with that war-- hasn't sought Congressional approval, etc.

I see the "No Kings" message as pro-democracy-- hopefully it will inspire Congress to do its Constitutional job and rein in the executive branch.

So, are you suggesting that the name of the protest — vs having an understanding of the goals of the protest would make a difference for you in terms of your support and participation? That better catchphrases and labels might significantly impact turnout ?

The only benefit of No Kings rallies are spikes in Bengay and bunion treatment sales.
