There won’t be new tax revenue from density because Friedson has exempted much of the new density from property taxes. Income taxes may not even cover the government services most people consume. If you own a lot of land, you should vote for Friedson. Everyone else should vote for one of the other two candidates. The interests of big landowners are not aligned with those of most of the public. |
Friedson’s policies aren’t pro growth. They’re pro rent seeking. Coddling the rent seekers is deadly to growth. |
Jawando is a nice guy who is personally ambitious. I've lost count of how many political offices he has run for. What I can count are Jawando's accomplishments: zero. He lacks executive function, a key component of being a successful county executive. |
Even if he does nothing, he still sounds like he'd be a better choice than the other two. |
What makes you think he's nice? |
DP. I’m not sure whether he’s nice — and most people who achieve elected office are not nice at all — but he is considerably smarter than the other two candidates. |
His mom is a successful real estate agent in Potomac and surrounding areas. |
Agree on the vegan part, but can you elaborate on how he "promotes" that he is gay? Is it possible that he just happens to be gay and that is somehow all you see? |

I disagree with that. He doesn't have the emotional intelligence or social skills to work well with others. Having a bunch of knowledge gets you nowhere if you can't lead. |
So an LQBTQ publication chose to spotlight him. And there was press nearly a decade ago regarding a specific initiative he spearheaded. And it is a line in his bio. Of everything out there about him and all he has done, this doesn't qualify as promotion, and certainly not self-promotion of his sexuality. |
Friedson lies a lot and Glass seems petty. Those aren’t good leadership traits either. On top of that, they’re as book smart. Jawando is the only council member I’ve seen who listens to constituents and he’s been more flexible in modifying his bills than others have been. Friedson acts like the smartest guy in the room and seems put off any time someone proposes an amendment. |
The delusion runs deep. Just type this into google: evan glass ltbtq. Pages and pages of results. I get it -- when you have nothing else to run on, you default to identity politics. |
DP. The second sentence of his official bio is about his sexuality and nothing else. I don’t personally care but it seems like he believes that his sexuality is the most important fact that people should know about him. |
This is first line of the second paragraph. “In 2018, Evan made history as the first openly gay man elected to the Montgomery County Council.” https://www.evanglass.com/ It’s prominent on his Instagram. Second line on his council about page “ He is the first openly LGBTQ+ individual to serve on the Council and in this role.” And don’t get me wrong. I don’t care that he’s gay but it is one of two things he’s known for. If he wants to win, then he needs people to see him like more than just the nice gay vegan. |
