I’ll take the nothingburger with a side of cheese fries & rootbeer

I’m happy to not have my car toppled by a tree or sleeping in the basement, thank you!

Same. Was that it?

Why would you like the power going out (even for an hour or two)??

Except we cancelled stuff and spun everyone up for no reason. Students at school were WILD to do. Many of them were asking “when is the tornado coming?” so clearly parents thought it was genius to tell 8 year olds this.

+1, I am never sorry when emergency preparedness turns out to be unnecessary. Just like buying insurance isn't foolish even if you never have to make a claim.

Tornado watch cancelled early.

For MoCo, flood warning now in effect.

Yes I explained to my kids that school was ending 2 hours early and why. Obviously if kids have weather anxiety it's tough, but lying to them isn't going to solve that problem.

My phone is saying 45 mph winds at 10:30, so I assume we aren’t out the clear yet?

No learning occurred today. Kids couldn’t sit still or listen to anything. Might as well have stayed home altogether.

Gee you may even need an umbrella.

I read my kid CWG and we talked about how there was a potential.for dangerous storms but that wasn't a guarantee and wr talked about what we would do it there was a dangerous storm (where we'd go in the house).

Weather predictions are difficult.

its over, you town criers are real pieces of work with your 40+ posts since yesterday.

Northern Silver Spring is safe. Got dark, a little breezy and rain. Then it stopped. I wish we had gotten at most a thunderstorm so I wouldn’t feel like I wasted too much time prepping. But glad that we can stop worrying about trees falling and prolonged power outages.

They are difficult and even if they are "correct" they might not be correct for every single locality. I can't imagine the outrage if the worst case scenario played out and all the complainers come out of the woodwork about "why didn't you act sooner?!?!?!" - it's also not over yet. Big squall line heading our way.
