China has a year's worth of oil reserves. And China loves their EVs.

And unfortunately Americans prefer to drive Super Dutys and Suburbans.

No they are given no choice because republicans will not allow inexpensive EVs in to this country.

So to avoid the world energy market from collapsing this has to end by the third week of the war. I do not think the Republicans will stop the war in two weeks.

Diesel is up around $.80 already...and if people don't think this won't be passed on to consumers who buy things that are shipped by truck...like groceries, I don't know what to tell you.

This will lead to a global recession, not just USA. Interest rates and inflation will go up in coming months.

Am I incorrect in thinking that interest rates go down in a recession? Don’t they want to encourage borrowing and spending?

Generally speaking, yes, but the Fed will have to be more cautious with the pace of cutting their benchmark rate due to inflationary pressures that are still lingering from the COVID driven inflation. Don't expect to see rates as low as they were in 2021 anytime soon.

Exactly. The worst case scenario is winding up in stagflation.

Yep. Gas is up 25% in a week where I live. A pint of blueberries was already $6. I shudder to think what they will be when I go shopping this weekend.

Yep. I'm the blueberry poster - just checked and the price is up .50 in a week. I'm sure all prices are up but that one stuck in my mind bc I almost stroked out at the store over it last week.

Oil is feedstock for plastics and fertilizers.

I hope it goes to $7.50/gallon or higher. I am looking forward to hearing MAGA big truck drives whine.

Trump will tell them that gas prices are going down, and the morons will instantly believe the lying propaganda.

I like thinking about the MAGAs in their big trucks belching exhaust rolling up to their local gas station and realizing that filling a tank means possibly not having enough money to pay the cable bill.
