Thank you. Out of one side of their mouth, “We are the smartest demographic at Wootton and if it wasn’t for us, Wootton wouldn’t have its outstanding reputation!” And then out of the other side of their mouth, “We are too illiterate and dumb to understand the boundary process!”

Pick a position and stick to it

Well said.

You sound racist.

All of this is giving me flashbacks to Mahmoud v. Taylor. When “liberals” who claim to love minority groups were outraged with Muslim families didn’t want LGBTQIA+ curriculum shoved down their kids throat.

What’s a liberal to do…with such conflicting ideals?

Do yall only care about minorities when they are black and brown? Would you feel the same way if Wootton was predominately Asian and they didn’t provided Spanish translation? Interesting how MCPS did provide Spanish translation but not Chinese Korean Hindi etc. even when Wootton is 40% Asians

Guess we only care about civil rights for the some kids 🤷🏻‍♀️

Predominantly Hispanic I meant

Imagine the outrage if Wootton was 40% Hispanic and Korean but not Spanish was provided as translations…

Liberals consider Asians to be white for purposes of college admissions, so you expect anything different from MCPS?

Self righteous contradicting liberals are my favorite kind of liberals!

English / español / 中文 / français / Português / 한국어 / tiếng Việt / አማርኛ

What is it they're claiming was not communicated?

Documents and presentations with respect to boundary study particularly option H, which made the wild claim of closing/moving a predominately Asian school, were never provided translations beyond Spanish

The BOE can’t vote to accept Option H until this is done and more community meetings are held. I suspect it will punt for 3 months.

Disparate impact is meritorious. You may not like it because Asians aren’t the “right” race to complain but governments are supposed to comply with Civil Rights law.

The loudest, most vocal and annoying demographic about this decision has been the very group that is filing this lawsuit. This lawsuit is bullshit and they know it. But they will use the Civil Rights Act, enacted on the backs of Black people, to advance their cause even if it hurts the people that gave them the right to sue. For example, see the Supreme Court affirmative action case. And I hope this bites them in the ass just like the Supreme Court decision did. Mark my word, they WILL lose.

Are you seriously implying that because civil rights act was enacted on the backs for black people, only black kids should sue MCPS for racial discrimination???

So civil rights claims are just for black kids? Cool take.

That is what the PP is saying. Asians have no need for civil rights protection because they’re successful.

Read your god damn history people.
Chinese folks are the only people who have ever been legally excluded from this country. (Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882). Japanese people are the only people to ever be legally interned in this country while some their family members were fighting in a war on America behalf.

To the PP: don’t you come at me telling me that Asians don’t have civil rights concerns. F off.

Let’s not forget all the massive Asian hate with goddamn Asian grandma’s being punched in the face for no reason.

Asian families tend to be easy to pick on because we’re “quiet” and “obedient”. Those stereotypes are dead. They ain’t going to roll over on this.

If it wasn’t for double standards they wouldn’t have any at all.

Ask the Clarksburg plaintiffs how that worked out for them. Must be nice to have money to throw away.

Perhaps that’s why translations weren’t provided.

I prefer reading the Supreme Court decision that reversed the lower courts and spanked MCPS so hard it violated MCPS own corporal punishment prohibition.

If anyone else wants some fun reading of MCPS getting their asses handed to them after wasting taxpayer money: https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24pdf/24-297_4f14.pdf?utm_source=chatgpt.com

And the same idiots on DCUM were saying that case had no merit either. Maybe they should take a lesson from CNN’s Jeffrey Toobin and enjoy some quality alone time to analyze their briefs.

Since when is failing to provide translations into a foreign language a civil rights violation?

And perhaps families in other parts of the county should be suing over the favoritism towards the Asian families at Wootton, who are being offered a brand new school originally approved with the expectation it would benefit more Black and brown families in the Crown area.

This suit is also dumb AF. The district will start a new boundary in 2027, regardless of a lawsuit. They are allowed to do this…

Try Googling. You’ll find the answer in a few minutes. If you’re too lazy, ask ChatGPT (developed in part by us smart Asians if you must know)

I don’t believe the Wootton Asian families asked for Crown. It’s being forced on us. But since you used the word “offered”, so on behalf of the Asian families at Wootton, we politely decline <slight bow>. Please give Crown to the black and brown families for which you are deigning to speak. They asked for it and deserve to get it.

As one of said Asians, PLEASE by all means SUE. The black and brown Gaithersburg families should 💯 sue!

Lol remember the PP above: after all, only black kids can pursue civil rights lawsuits.

We Asians don’t matter.

For real, every black and brown family in Gaithersburg should sue.
