Good job missing the point. You think the dog knows the difference between neighbors? A loose dog is a nuisnace and will be dealt with as such. |
Seriously, what is wrong with you with your constant posts trying to justify killing the dog? |
Pp wants dog meats maybe? |
Maybe, but obviously they are in an area with agricultural land, they don't say what the 1000 acre property is but fact is it's hardly uncommon for there to be small parcels mixed in with much larger ones in rural agricultural areas. My parents' farm was in a mixed area like that. Small farmsteads where the previous owners had sold off their fields or where it wasn't good farming or in an inconvenient location, some 40 to 160 acre parcels owned by people for hunting purposes, plus fields. OP, is it ok if the dog poops in the woods or the weeds? My dog seemed to instinctively know to do that on our farm and when we visited people--she'd never go on people's lawns. |
etc. My stepfather's family has several hundred acres in the northern neck. It's all a quilt. Large plots rented off to others, other parcels for horses, trees, a hunt club, etc. Very rarely do large landowners let chunks of land go fallow |
| Two former stupid neighbors used to let their stupid dogs roam my 2 acre yard to poop and bark on me. You know what stopped them? Police, a restraining order, and then a fence. |
This is good. |
| Some dog owners are so incredibly clueless. We have a neighbor whose dog is constantly getting out and running over to our yard to poop. In the interest of "taking the long view," we haven't said anything to them about it - yet. However, if this keeps up, we will have to tell them to make sure it stops happening. Our yard is not their yard. |
| Does this actually cause a problem for you or is this a petty gripe? I can’t imagine on that large of a property that a little dog poop would be such an issue. So, you might just need to check your ego and the part of you that feels disrespected, and let it go of it. It is an emotional reaction. |
| I had a neighbor who let their dog run loose constantly. I just started picking the dog up and dropping it off at animal control. After they paid the fine a couple times they stopped letting it out. |
Keep your dog in your own yard. |
This question badically can't be answered but we are talking about 41 acres of property that is apparently not visited that frequently for months on end but on which there are "tons of cameras all over" that are apparently being monitored from afar for errant neighbors and dogs. I'm not supporting the pooper and neighbors, but anyone with any large amount of property knows, the lines get a little blurry unless you are a total dick. |
Is the dog pooping in place you generally walk? I also own a ranch property and I couldn't care less if an animal (and by the way, there are A LOT OF THEM OUT THERE) poop out in the fields. Now, if the dog is coming up to your front porch to poop, that's a problem. Otherwise, you're complaining a single piece of trash in the ocean with the amount of animal poop that is all over your land. |
No, not unless it is threatening you or another living being. Grass doesn't count. |
Shooting a dog because it's killing your chickens is not the same thing as shooting a dog because it crapped in the woods. Do you even understand that? |
