| just let them be OP. it's the way of life out there. the only time i might say something is your land is somewhat dangerous (hills, rocks, other potential hazards). |
This is the only real.amawer. |
Crapping on your neighbor's lawn is a 'way of life'. |
41 acres of open space is not a lawn. Still a private property. |
Get chicken wire fence. It’ll be cheaper particularly given how worked up you are about one dog. |
|
I have a similar situation, new DC weekend transplants who probably like the allure of some land who don’t understand property lines and don’t seem to heed No Trespassing signs. They also let their off leash dog run all over the place and they also follow it onto our land.
We hunt our land. We plan on letting them know the dangers of people and pets trespassing on the land during hunting season, with a reminder for them to put on some blaze orange. Just a friendly warning in case they aren’t familiar with hunting. |
This isn’t what you tell country folk. You tell them that you set out rabbit traps and to be careful with the dog. (Don’t set out traps). Or tell them that people will be hunting on the property and to keep their dog off the property during hunting season which is basically the whole summer |
Honestly the dog poop isn’t a problem on 40 acres. The mule is pooping there anyway |
I’m from the country and a lot of people let dogs roam and a lot of people will even hunt through your property if their are no signs up |
| I would drop a load of manure right in your driveway |
It’s not dog poo alone that’s a problem. Poop for any omnivore or carnivore is a problem. Fox poop is a problem. Cat poop is a problem. And likely both are a much bigger problem on the 40+ acres than the poop of a single dog. |
Hahaha you said the same thing I said. I can tell you are really from the countryside |
??? OP literally stated that the house next door is a 500 acre working farm! |
Meant *there |
House next door and they don't seem to be complaining. OP did not say their acres were used for farming and described 41 acres as a "yard." So, not a farm. |
