Appropriate to wear black to a wedding?

I wore a beautiful black dress to a recent wedding. Tons of compliments. The only color I would never wear to a wedding is white. My DH looked hot in his black tuxedo.

The men are wearing black, why single out the women?

Black suits are for the staff. If it's not black tie, my husband only wears gray or blue suits.

...so? Maybe I don't want to buy a dress for your wedding.

You sound cheap. Gross.

Same!
I have so many black dresses and wear them to weddings. I wore black dresses (different ones) to 3 of my niece's weddings. Half the women are wearing black.
