Will those who work/worked for ICE be employable in the future?

They aren’t “just doing their job.”

They relish it. They get off on it. They are badly trained and trigger happy.

Yeah, someone who transfers from HR at State to HR at DHS isn’t a huge deal although I probably wouldn’t do it but the guys in the streets and the guys signing up now is a whole other thing— they are the bad guys and they should know it. I wouldn’t even have a drink with them much less hire them.

They were barely employable in the first place.

Of course they are lol. It's not illegal to work for the federal government. Many of us are working in industries doing shady s**t, taking advantage of customers, denying care etc etc....

Most of the smart shady people don't allow themselves to become synonymous with the SS by letting others see them in action.

Really I think the Trump admin views them as expendable.

Only ones they are qualified for...

For me, it would depend on what job they held. Are they out in the field snatching people off the streets, zip tying children in pajamas, shooting women pointblank in the head? No, I am not hiring them. Someone shuffling papers I wouldn't necessarily dismiss out of hand because as someone noted earlier, there are some people hanging around for malicious compliance purposes.

May none of them have a day of peace ever again.

Right but OP's friend does an administrative job which I assume is some kind of program management / analyst position of which there are tons in the govt.

Yes, I will. They are just doing their jobs to make a living.

They should be respected as any police officers.

I don't respect thug police officers either. As for someone doing an admin job there, no I wouldn't hire them either.

You extend that same courtesy to Germans in the SS?

Don't be stupid. Either you're FOR brutalizing innocent civilians, or you're AGAINST. Being AGAINST means you don't hire the armed goons. They could have taken an immigrant's job in construction, couldn't they? They could have waited tables, delivered food, driven Ubers. Don't kid yourself. They wanted to be paid to brutalize other human beings. They LIKE it.

The comparison between ICE and the SS is absurd. When there are mass graves and smoke from crematoriums, you can try again.

By then, it is too late. You really want to wait for mass murders to determine if something is wrong. Crazy ASF

Over 1300 people have disappeared already. A US citizen was just murdered point blank in her car days ago. Don’t be naive here. It’s not absurd at all, and it’s dangerous for you to think otherwise.

This isn’t 1970s Argentina. Those “disappeared” are almost certainly alive. And 1300 is a far cry from 6 million.

What occurred a couple of days ago can be interpreted different ways. I don’t necessarily agree with ICE’s interpretation or condone what the individual officer did, but it’s a far cry from roaming execution squads rounding up civilians to be shot in the streets or forrests.

I’m not naive. You are grossly exaggerating and doing a disservice by not focusing on the very legitimate ways ICE’s action, generally and in MN, can be criticized.

You have to get to the number 1300 before you reach 6 million. Is 6 million your threshold? Is that the number that opens your eyes? What's the minimum for you before you stop closing your eyes like they closed their eyes in Bosnia, Rwanda, Germany until it was too late before the people realized what their government was doing in their name.
