| It's like when TSA ramped up hiring immediately after 9/11, you had a bunch of people hired who you otherwise wouldn't trust to fog up a mirror. They have to hope for some preference in federal hiring as I don't think any private sector hiring manager is dumb enough to not put two and two together. |
| Well, they aren't apparently sending their best. Would assume having ICE on your resume after this will only going well in the most MAGA workplaces. |
That’s the threshold for people comparing ICE agents it SS agents. |
This isn’t 1970s Argentina. Those “disappeared” are almost certainly alive. And 1300 is a far cry from 6 million. What occurred a couple of days ago can be interpreted different ways. I don’t necessarily agree with ICE’s interpretation or condone what the individual officer did, but it’s a far cry from roaming execution squads rounding up civilians to be shot in the streets or forrests. I’m not naive. You are grossly exaggerating and doing a disservice by not focusing on the very legitimate ways ICE’s action, generally and in MN, can be criticized. |

My company is multi national never would we hire anyone who had ICE work experience
Also we are now weeding out MAGA as well we are privately held so yes we absolutely will not hire MAGA . If you are that stupid and anti American at this point to believe one thing that comes out of the Trump Administration you are not capable of being employed. |
My friend works for a tech consulting company in Indiana. Their company is full MAGA, like Fox News is on in the break room and the owner hobnobs with prominent GOP local politicians. She's definitely not that type, but keeps her head down and stays quiet to keep her job. Just saying there are plenty of MAGA companies out there.. just not so many in the DMV I'd say. |
You forgot the avocado toast. You’d also stop getting avocado toast. |
+1 My family is generational law enforcement, and my dad (retired now) has repeatedly said that he would hire basically anyone before former CBP/ICE. They are poorly trained, jittery, and biased against the communities they are meant to be serving. Even before Trump II, the general impression among LEOs was that those guys were the lowest dregs of federal agents, and below most municipal PDs in terms of prestige. |
PP here and ICE won't get cut until Trump is gone at which point I expect other agencies will staff up so there will be new jobs for them to use their RIF hiring preference to obtain. Note the preference only lasts for one year so all the people RIF'd this past year won't have it. |
What is "tech consulting"? Just an outsourced IT provider for small/medium businesses? |
That's not illegal or a sin, but murder is. |
Ladies and gents, evidence A that this forum is divided between hysterical politicized and hypocritical people with axes to grind and making up stuff, and people who are trying to have rational, reasoned conversations. Good god. Unfortunately there's been a major trend towards the former in recent years. |
| I hope not. |
LOL. All good to work for the Gestapo if it is convenient to your house. With standards like these no wonder ICE is on the loose. |
I’m very pro police officer. I wouldn’t look askance (much) at someone who joined ice prior to 2024, but the tenor of recruitment and training has now changed and I would very much question the intention or judgment of someone who joined in an officer position after that date. I wouldn’t necessary bar them totally but would at least have further questions in my mind, both for professional and personal interactions. To my mind, admin positions are somewhat different. I’ve actually been wondering in my head if a moral thing to do would be for normal people to all join ICE now so there are people that can say “no, this is neither lawful nor ethical” and/or to provide truthful testimony when things go wrong. |
