Will those who work/worked for ICE be employable in the future?

Yes.

Sure, they can find jobs -- sorting mail, doing laundry, and other prison jobs. I hope they all rot.

Will my friend have an issue with future employment, any employment, because of time spent at ICE?

Do they have a cheezy little goatee-beard like so many MAGAs?

If trump can get rehired anyone can

You’re not going to get realistic advice on DCUM about this because people here suffer from chronic wishcasting whenever politics are at issue

Yes, I will. They are just doing their jobs to make a living.

They should be respected as any police officers.

You extend that same courtesy to Germans in the SS?

Don't be stupid. Either you're FOR brutalizing innocent civilians, or you're AGAINST. Being AGAINST means you don't hire the armed goons. They could have taken an immigrant's job in construction, couldn't they? They could have waited tables, delivered food, driven Ubers. Don't kid yourself. They wanted to be paid to brutalize other human beings. They LIKE it.

Sadly, I'm sure some xenophobe in a right-wing organization will hire him. But I wouldn't. He made a reprehensible choice of tacit acquiescence in the inhumane treatment of human beings.

I'm not sure. Some of ICE is doing customs enforcement. Their job may be searching shipping containers for drugs and contraband. I'd probably look at when they were hired and what their job title is.

Some are also the guys at the airport stamping passports. They likely had that job before Trump.

God willing yes 100% yes.

Who the hell works for ICE? Not anyone with a brain or anyone who loves the Constitution and America.

Go away MAGA idiot

No, those are Customs and Border Police. And you know what? They were always horrible. They are known to be demeaning and abrasive because they can - the foreigners with visas and waivers they let in can say absolutely nothing in reply. These are the sort of people who take the job because they WANT to crush other people - it gives them a feeling of power.

It happened to my family 10 years ago. We were waiting to have our passports and status looked at at the US border station at Niagara Falls, and the border officer started yelling at my husband, saying he knew he was lying, that we were trying enter the country illegally, etc. He was so furious little flecks of spit were coming out of his mouth. The entire room full of people waiting to be processed could hear him. My husband kept telling him really calmly that our passports were all in order, that we were allowed to enter, etc, but he wouldn't listen. Until the manager came out of his room, inspected our passports (and looked for us in his computer system), and told us we were all fine, and could proceed into the US.

All this in front of my 2 year old daughter and 7 year old son. None of us slept that night. Having an armed officer of the law with the power to refuse you entry into the country, screaming at you and calling you a liar is NOT an experience you are ever likely to forget.

There are some law enforcement agencies that have an evil culture of oppression built into them.

What are these new federal jobs? I am sincerely curious.

The comparison between ICE and the SS is absurd. When there are mass graves and smoke from crematoriums, you can try again.

Considering that most are not employable by anyone but ICE, no.
