Western High School Renovations/Construction.

Okay, but back to the main topic.

What do you think will happen or have to happen to make the KAA site a true FCPS school?

Name it Oak Hill since it defines the area. Do not go with the name of a person to make a statement. We do not need astronauts or aspirational names like 'Discovery" or Innovation.
Set the boundaries ASAP.

Redo the inside, so that it is to scale for a FCP HS. Toilets and the like are a distraction. It will take a lot of effort to resist and reconfigure. Sure only half full first couple of years but way more in terms of logistical challenges than FCPS has proven they can handle. Will be scrambling come July when they recognize the building is unusable for 26-27 school year.

why are you so weirdly fixated on toilets? There are bigger issues - for example, a full sized library and cafeteria.

The school needs classrooms, a library, rebranding on the exterior and interior where they pull away the Jihadist themes inside the school, and remove some of the off putting materials that don’t give into FCPSs All-AMERICAN vibe.
This is racist, but true.

I believe you meant to say "Islamic".

This was a horribly hateful troll with works referencing “Khans” and “Guptas” in reference to Asian and Indian students deleted.

True, but they had organized phases and quads provided.

With this project, they will use the two buildings across the street as academic work space possibly, and it shouldn’t be as involved as what Fox Mill underwent.

It was dusty and awful. Bad for my kid with asthma. Also, the drilling and pounding drove the teachers nuts. Prior to the construction, the older kids were in trailers. The logistics to get to the bathrooms was rough.

Crossfield's was great b/c it was just one side of the school at a time.

When Fox Mill was renovated, doors were closed off to the area under construction and temp walls were put up to prevent health and safety hazards.

It was similar to that of Oak Hill’s and Crossfield’s as per NIST guidelines in school construction and renovations.

Name it Oak Hill since it defines the area. Do not go with the name of a person to make a statement. We do not need astronauts or aspirational names like 'Discovery" or Innovation.
Set the boundaries ASAP.

LOLOLOLOL. Oak Hill? In the not so distant past that area was called, wait for it, HERNDON.

I like schools named after people though, but they have to have lived in or near the area or have fostered the same sense of love and innovation the school will.

And, why was it renamed? Because it has its own post office and community. It is not part of Herndon. Some parts align more with Chantilly--and are much closer to Chantilly. Some are closer to Fairfax. Some are closer to Oakton. Some are closer to Reston.
Living on the other side of the DTR means that the neighborhoods do not connect.
You might consider looking at a map.

When you cross the DTR from where I live you end up on Eldon Street, past Worldgate, in the town of Herndon.

I know my maps!
