Do you think that Canada is waiting for an opportune time to invade ?

Huh? No, federal workers just want to know if they will have a day off or whether they need to use leave or work that day. Usually the president closes the government on 12/26 when it’s a Friday, but federal workers have learned not to expect anything positive this year.

Didn't most Federal Workers just have 40 days of closure?

No, most Feds were working daily without knowing when the next paycheck would come.

No, most Feds weren’t working and knew they would get paid when the gov reopened.

Wrong. Well over half of Feds were working and many who were originally furloughed were recalled part way through. I went to school in this area and know a ton of Feds across a lot of agencies and I don’t know one single person who was furloughed for 43 straight days. Most worked as normal.

Don't get your hope up. It's still up to the Department head to decide (section 2).

I know several people who didn’t work the whole time.

Two extra days off. Well he does keep us on our toes.

The ultimate abuser.

Exactly. Like getting a dozen roses after being punched in the face.

Only a DCUMer with TDS could find a way to complain about two days off.

I’m hoping this leads to VERA. I’m even fine with RIFs because I’m ready to take my severance and leave.

Donald Trump grants federal workers an unprecedented 5 day holiday break with an extra two days off around Christmas. He signed an executive order giving them dec 24 and dec 26 off. Happy OP?
