Depends how much checking is "all the time."
My 24 yr old daughter lives halfway across the country, is single and lives alone, and she keeps her location on. I don't track her daily or regularly, but occasionally I'll check to make sure she got home safely if she tells me she was out, or to see that she arrived at her destination if she's traveling. I haven't told her to keep her location on but she wants it on for safety reasons. I don't think it's weird for adult children, especially young single women, so share location with a parent.
