Not at all. Catholic schools, strong rigor in humanities and a lot of service hours. It’s only unbelievable if people think GPA is everything. It’s not.

That 56% is the sum of ACT and SAT. Some kids submit both, so TO is likely even higher there. The sad thing is that BC is just doing what they have to do to remain financially viable in a screwed up system.

These schools that refer to their process as “holistic” should swap that word for “opaque.” As is, “We have an opaque admissions process.” That should be in the garbage admissions mail they all send out.

I don’t know if I feel misled exactly but I definitely read them as saying they wanted scores. And also surprised by the TO acceptances.

Of course they want scores. It’s reported to USNWR and TO is on its way out. Scores at the 25th percentile usually goes to hooked students and athletes so you are always at risk submitting scores in that range. Your high school counselor should have advised against this

I don’t think wanting test scores is a given. And, that is a shame that there was unclear info about TO. I can only find the CDs from 23/24 but it shows only 44% of enrolled students submitted test scores. They also list test scores as “considered” where recs, essays and activities are all assigned “important.” GPA is “very important.” To me that looks like they like candidates with great grades and rigor (relative to HS)C, leadership, and less about test scores. Unless the new CDS shows differently, I would have advised only submit if above 50%.

With the SAT being watered down, superscoring, and fake accommodations, standardized testing is a joke.

Poster who previously posted about AO saying they only wanted to see 1450 or above. He also said that the submission of test scores was trending up.

Most kids aren’t going to top 30 nor do they concern themselves with it. Maybe neurotic parents do for a reason I can’t think of but BC is an excellent school that has graduated successful people.
