"Laura Perna, a professor of education at the University of Pennsylvania, told Newsweek: "The ranking of institutions depends on the methodology. This list places relatively heavy weight on the selectivity of the admissions process and other factors that favor highly selective, well-resourced institutions, including institutions with large endowments. Given the criteria used here, I am not surprised."

My credit ranking on Wallethub is way off compared to others. I look at these rankings the same way…..

They actually seem more on point than most rankings posted here including USNWR which is very flawed in my opinion.

+2

USNWR fails to take into account diversity and equity on campus, for one.

Holy Cross placed 70th nationally.

Unfortunately, this topic was mistitled, which appears to have confused people.

Holy Cross placed 13th among LAC category.

Not reputable study has Davidson at 73.

And yet another ranking where UVA falls lower. Is there any hope for the school or will it just continue to decline year after year?

Who the heck is using "Wallet Hub" to help them choose a college? LOL these endless and different rankings are all so subjective and stupid. They all have at least 1-2 criteria that ruin the purpose.

I guess we all just have to do our own work vetting because these are all so silly and meaningless!

By their own scoring, Williams should be the #1 college, and CMC should be #3. But in the college rankings they rank lower-scoring colleges higher. Are these two not 'colleges'?

Williams placed in the university subcategory, presumably because of its PhD-level degrees. CMC also appears in the university category, for a reason maybe someone else can explain.

yeah it seems like wallethub is not credible and doesn't know what it's doing. seems like it mistakenly combined claremont mckenna with claremont graduate institute (which gives PhDs) even though their separate institutions in the consortium.

my head hurts trying to understand this ranking system so I'm just going to give up and fully disregard it haha!

It seems like you don't like the results. We get it already. Move on.
