They're not going to give it to any right wingers these days. All they talk about is committing violence while lying about the left committing violence. We see right through you.

Maria is very deserving of this honor. So glad they gave the award to her. Past recipients have been questionable, at best.

I still believe Trump is deserving of this award. Perhaps next year.

Thank you. Please spread your peaceful and rational views on all the right social media channels, PP. We need Trump to believe that if he strives for a a fair peace in Gaza and Ukraine, he can win the Nobel Peace Prize at some point.

It's critical to world harmony that we keep dangling the carrot.

He’s declared war on his own cities and people, criminalized being against fascism, and is funding and supporting the worst of the worst of humanity in kidnapping and assaulting (and now murdering) people in America. Well, and murdering dogs.

No amount of self delusion will ever trick anyone into believing that Trump is doing anything for humanity. I don’t think that even he believes it.

Good grief.

Working on reducing crime in the US is a good thing.
Antifa is the very definition of fascist. Their goal is to silence those with whom they disagree through violence.
Enforcing immigration laws is what millions of us voted for. We know this is something the left is unaccustomed to since Biden not only ignored the laws, but blatantly broke them.

Your response here demonstrates your utter lack of knowledge about what is happening in our country as well as our history.

Crime is at a low since the pandemic in all the cities where Trump has dispatched the NG. Folks who are in the know realize that crime levels have been dropping since the '90s and the only uptick over those 30ish years occurred duriing the pandemic. If I were told I had to relocate to an urban area, but I was able to choose, it would never be to a red state city as nearly all of them have higher crime rates than their blue state city peers.

Do you know what antifa means? Do you know that you probably had older relatives who were antifa? Did you know that this country was antifa during WWII? Again, do you know what antifa mean?

Are you aware that Biden and Obama removed more people without documentation during their tenures than Trump did in his first term?

The grief that should be expressed here is for how poorly you are serving your children with your paucity of critical thinking and analytical skills. You're failing them.

The peace prize should be for people who advance peace, not democracy. And it certainly shouldn’t be used as an FU to anyone. This is about as serious as the Academy Awards which end up just being some political award that doesn’t actually matter anymore.

What? Do you think true peace exists in an absence of democracy?

Trump is disqualified forever for continuing to usher in authoritarian rule in this country and calling for violence against his political opponents (while constantly lying about them) and against everyday CITIZENS of this country. He has never and never will be deserving of any honors. He is a scourge.

They are not only failing their children. They are failing their country. These people vote for authoritarianism.

But what did he really do. Israel does what it wants. He said he'd end wars day one. How many people have died in Gaza since January?

He deserves nothing.

Why do you democracy fetishists think peace and democracy go hand in hand? It seems like democracies in fact are almost constantly at war, often for the stupidest things. Have we forgotten our own adventures in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and dozens of other places we'd rather pretend didn't happen?

If the Nobel people want to give a Democracy prize, just go ahead and do that. Or even, "the person that will most annoy the current leader of the Republican party of America" prize.

And no, I don't think Trump should get this either.

Machado supports Trump and his murdering of her countrymen.

She's not for peace. She's just a competing dictator who has the moral advantage of currently not being in power.

A non-democracy, by definition, is ruling people against their will. That's not peace.

She nipped that possibility in the bud by dedicating the award to the Venezuelan people AND Trump. Of course, the WH immediately stated that she dedicated it to him, leaving out the "people of Venezuela" part. I'm sure he's feeling much better now. She's a very smart woman. I'm sure she will try to leverage her dedication into regime change via the US military.

Machado's statement:

"I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!"
