The way other countries get there is through universal basic healthcare which ensures people get more up front, cheaper preventative healthcare and lowers need for expensive emergent healthcare. If that is what you are proposing, have at it! |
That's science. No man is an island. You can't be hard working and self-sufficient without tax-built roads to get to your job. |
You read that entire post and “climate change” is what you got out of it? |
“The reason we have homelessness today is because we have a Federal Reserve bank — it’s a criminal organization,” he said. “Look how homelessness is exploding. People can’t afford homes.” Kiyosaki argued that by printing fiat currency, the Federal Reserve fuels price increases that make everyday life harder for ordinary Americans. “When you print fake money, which this stuff is, you make life harder on people,” he said, holding up two U.S. dollar bills. He went on to explain that money printing disproportionately benefits asset owners at the expense of the poor and middle class. “So if you own a house and you print money, you feel, oh, the price of my house went up. But the average person sees the price of chicken and eggs and yogurt goes up and — and inflation wipes them out.” https://moneywise.com/news/economy/robert-kiyosaki-warns-us-baby-boomers-will-be-wiped-out-by-a-punishing-force-and-theyll-be-left-homeless-all-over-the-country-fight-back-now |
This is such a bs argument. In the pie of climate change contributors, the US has already used up a huge chunk of that as it industrialized. We know better now and have other tech so we (in theory) use less. China and other industrializing countries are where we were in the 19th century. And we have no moral ground to tell them not to. There may be incentives, agreements, etc. but Trump is using a cudgel instead of those options. The US won't be hobbled and we would be further along and a leader in non-fossil fuel tech but Republicans want to cater to coal and oil and gas industries and pretend we're still in the guilded age of industrialization. So you want to talk hobbled? Look to the backwards thinking of the republican party. |
DP. Actually, if this is one PP posting all the anti-science nonsense conspiracy theories, they are that stupid. They are cuckoo. |
We have homelessness today because Reagan and the GOP cut social spending on housing for the mentally ill and services for people with drug and alcohol problems. That is the core of homelessness. The rest is the consolidation of wealth that pushes most jobs to be below the poverty line. |
Uh, China is leading the world in solar, hydro and wind power. And is exporting it to a higher degree than any other country in the world. |
Your premise is misleading and argumentative. It’s not worth my time. |
They also bring another additional newly constructed coal fired power plant on line about every 10 days. China is the largest importer and user of both anthracite and bituminous coal on earth. They might lead the world in solar and wind, but they lead the world in carbon-based energy production too. |
You skipped the small scale nuclear, but they also burn a ton of coal. I hate the air quality every time I visit relatives. |
Leftwing people hate data that Contradicts their views as well. It's universal. |

Here's the problem that I have with MAGA: If your worldview crumbles under the weight of peer-reviewed data, whether climate change, vaccines, renewables, or economic models that show trickle-down doesn't work, and whatever else - the problem isn’t the data, the math or the science; it’s the scaffolding you built around denial.
Dismissing climate models, vaccine development, and ecological research as “elitist” doesn’t make you a rebel. It makes you a liability. The left isn’t smug for trusting experts; it’s just tired of pretending that facts are optional. You don’t get to call it “political science” just because it threatens your comfort zone. Science isn’t partisan. It’s the reason your GPS works, your weather app updates, and your medicine heals. If MAGA wants to gut research funding and call it freedom, they should be honest: it’s freedom from accountability, not freedom to thrive. |

Feeling dumb is not a good feeling... makes people lash out.
I've observed this with my maga mom for years... she asks what I do, I explain, she doesn't understand it, and then she gets angry/ dismissive. Every time. She says things like "that sounds like make-work," and "sounds unnecessarily complicated... who's paying for all that??" Not only does she dismiss it, she gets mad she doesn't understand it and then she needs to attack me to rebalance things. |
This is word salad. "artificially induced government grants from universities?" is this maga mad-libs? |
