Which colleges are considered the "Little Ivies"?

At the time, it was shorthand for what was already known and accepted in certain circles. Wes made a mistake in rapidly expanding enrollment when it went co-ed, somewhat diluting the brand. Then the brand took another downturn in the 90s when fundraising lapsed. It is actually holding steady now and on a slight upswing.

The title of the thread should be: "Little Ivys", not "Little Ivies".

Any college or university with an admit rate below 20% should give students & their families a sense of accomplishment and pride.

Large university honors colleges are also noteworthy--especially the University of Georgia Honors Colleges which has very high admission standards.

Colby was ranked #11 in USNews in 2022. Last year it was 25. Doesn't sound much like an upward trajectory to me!

Colby just got a ton of money. But US News does not decide things on this front, in any event. Observers know which way certain colleges are “moving.” Midd is not in the decline because of US News methodology, but because of its own, well-documented issues.

Some absurd term from the 50’s still implies parents of these kids want the rest of the world to know their kid is in a “little ivy”. Please get it together.

It's own well-documented issues? I assume you're talking about its budget deficit, 60% of which is due to a program that's shutting down in 2027. The former president turned a blind eye to weak financial management. The new president is taking care of business.
