Only reason it's illegal is because the government, police, pharma, corporations, dealers, brokers, etc. all make more money keeping it "illegal" so they can keep up the perpetual "war on drugs" propaganda and money laundering operations.

If it were "legal" and "regulated" it would make them all less money, and couldn't campaign on it.

You misunderstand what “GRAS” means. I am not saying that table salt is “safe” because I am aware of what you are describing—snarky though you are in describing it.

But salf is freely sold despite having potential for harm if it is used in a way that is a true outlier. Marijuana is not and should not be like that; it requires more active regulation of production and distribution channels to ensure safety.
