The federals in DC are not anywhere where crimes are being committed. They are in high traffic areas, around the mall, on 14th Street and Union Station. They are not in Wards 5, 7 and 8. They are doing things like yanking delivery folks off their scooters, not challenging thugs with guns

Well, if they’ve already made 240 arrests and recovered 35 guns in only the safe, rich areas, then the crime situation may be even worse than we thought.

They are combining ICE arrests with regular arrests. They are not getting any more arrests than a regular day for MPD. ICE arrests do not help crime in DC, our crime is committed by US citizens. Furthermore, one of the biggest issues with crime in DC in recent years is the no papering and prosecution rates which is within their control to fix. Nothing matters if they do not dramatically increase staffing rates to help prosecute the cases (plus well, actually prosecute them rather than completely drop the case the day after arrest).

But they still recovered 35 guns in the “nice” areas? Sheesh!

I’m sure if the Democrat mayor of Jackson asked POTUS to send troops, Trump gladly would. POTUS did not have to wait for the DC mayor to ask because of, you know, the United Sates Constitution.
