You have some issues. Folks from Europe buy American trucks when they live here. Weather they use them for horses. Or other reasons. |
Wow, you can tow a whole thousand pounds, huh? Maybe - maybe - if we cut a hind leg off of our smallest horse, we might get her weight down to a thousand pounds.
Your comment perfectly illustrates how most of you here don’t have the slightest understanding of why trucks are designed the way they are. You aren’t equipped for this discussion. |
| It’s interesting how the complainers in this thread aren’t asking why SUVs suddenly proliferated and why station wagons disappeared and why we don’t have lots of smaller hauling options like the rest of the world. Gee, I wonder why all the most commonly available options are on enormous truck wheelbases. If only there was someway to find out. |
Wouldn't this strain the engine of a small 4-cylinder car? |

Yet Chevy makes the 5 passenger Malibu that runs very well and fits a family and costs under 30k. They have 2023 and 2024 used one in lot for 17k.
And 2025 is last year of model. Americans don’t want boring 4 door sedans. They make them if people bought them. And last my 23 year old daughter and two friends went to cape cod for week they rented a Chevy Malibu. It fits all their stuff, good mileage and has tons of great safety stuff and Apple play and great mpg. But people don’t want practical |
Latin American derived workers drive vans, or trucks actually full of debris. European derived owners (and non traders, like the horse girl) drive pavement prince trucks. |
LOL ! If I had been towing my daughters horse with a car when a cyclist tried to make a left hand turn in front of me. The cyclist would be dead. I swerved to the point that the trailer slid sideways from avoiding killing the cyclist who was at fault. The event was bad enough to destroy the center divider in my trailer form my horse being thrown side to side in the trailer. Of course the so called smart folks who never go outside of any beltway are put on this earth to educate the rest of us! |

I said a car could do alot of those things not all of them and i fully understand that a small car does have its limits, I understand that some people need a truck for some things and i own one my self but i don't drive it unless i need to tow more than my car can handle. |
Having both a car and truck is quite expensive. Having a teen driver on my policy has us at around 400 a month for each car and truck. Our F150 King Ranch is our go to for road trips. Most comfortable seats out of any car or truck I've been in. Better than BMW, MB or Land Rovers! The heated seats are or like heating pads! Along with the massaging seats are quite nice for 10+ hour drives. Plus I get 23 MPG on road trips. Our Subaru only gets 28. And is not good for more than 3 hour trips. Of course city folks do not think about deer hits. Yes they happen quite often in Loudoun , Fauquier, Montgomery among other places. Not only do cars total out from deer hits quite often. Deer come into the windshield often due to the height of the car vs deer. I've seen a Prius hit one at 50, toss it up in the air, Then it went threw the windshield of a Maxima killing both the driver and passenger instantly. When a SUV or truck hits a deer they go down on the pavement and do not endanger oncoming traffic as much. |

Bolded where you are the problem. You're welcome. Translation for stupid people: these are all selfish, environment-degrading childish problems you made for yourself. |
You're a *horse person*. You're not equipped for life on a shared planet. You have multiple half-ton housepets and $100k trucks while others literally starve. |
There is a middle ground between tiny car and monstrous truck. I’ve traveled to many ski towns and there are absolutely normal cars that make it around the mountain, you just need the right tires and AWD. Driving on the beach is trashy. I grew up in FL and hate visiting any beach that allows cars. Not everything needs to be built for cars instead of humans. Also how much crap does your kid have if you need a large car to drive their stuff home? I always managed just fine with a sedan, but I’m not a hoarder that lugs around a ton of crap. And for the rest of that stuff you can absolutely tow them with a normal size SUV. All of this is just made up excuses as to why you need some overly large car that takes up more than your share of resources. Also ATVs are stupid. I know 2 young people who died on them and these were people who rode often and knew what they were doing. |
People like you fill the dumpsters after classes end each year. ( Your environmental award!) Enjoy your crowded beaches with wall to wall people! The funny thing is. Pick up and SUV drivers do not care about what you drive! If you are happy with your choice of car. Great we are happy for you!! |
