99.9% of suburbanites aren't hauling haybales nor are towing livestock.  99.9% of people are driving these dumbass vehicles to go to Costco, Home Goods, Target, Starbucks and the local McDonald's.  Because a story exists that's probably 2-3 standard deviations from the norm doesn't really add much to the overall point that most of America lives in the city and burbs and are driving all of these stupidly sized cars that are completely unnecessary and are killing too many people.  And all to line the pockets of automakers.  Somehow 3 billion people from Europe to Asia are capable of having families, sports practices and haul around stuff, yet don't need stupidly sized vehicles to survive.[/quote]

Back to what is offered in America. Only two small pickups - the Maverick and Santa Cruz, which are both great but don’t safely fit everyone’s work or lifestyle needs.

Europe and Japan have different offerings. Plenty of Americans choose  vans but they are not any smaller than the trucks you’re so offended by, are LESS safe and they don’t allow cross-use, like serving as a family vehicle.

So many trades people use vehicles like that all over Europe to Asia, because they have far more storage and hauling space than these stupidly sized trucks.  You're just regurgitating all of the auto industry propaganda. Besides, the vast, vaaaaast majority of these these stupid trucks and SUVs are bought and driven by suburban Chad morons who think they need 400 hp to go to Costco.  Completely laughable.

Billions of people on the planet, which include ranchers to trades people to urban dwellers, are somehow capable of surviving and doing their work without these dumb vehicles. I blows a hole in your argument that somehow these gargantuan vehicles are "needed".

They are monstrousities they are the product of a bunch of car industry brain washing of the public and a whole bunch of lobbying effort.
