Trump’s Trip to Middle East

On Syria, this from Ben Rhodes:
"It's so clearly the right decision," said Ben Rhodes, a national security aide to President Obama, on the "Pod Save the World" podcast. "I don't know why Joe Biden didn't do this."
"I don't like Trump's motivations for lots of things he does," Rhodes continued, "but one thing you will say is he's not tied to this constant fear of some bad faith right-wing attacks or stupid Blob-type, 'we don't do this, we must leverage the sanctions for blah blah blah.' No! Sometimes you just have to try something different."

Qatar has a GDP of $213 Billion.

We aren't getting $1.2 Trillion.

MATH.

He wasn’t dumb enough to believe Iran was behind some 19 year old incel trying to shoot his head off. He’s very JfK like in this regard. He also didn’t want war and wanted to find pragmatic solutions to keep our men and women alive and not at war overseas for dubious purposes

I agree and I'm very impressed with the handling of the Iran situation. He's put America first and refused to be bullied by the likes of Netanyahu and throw our military into another unnecessary war on his behalf.

Meanwhile, there is a $600 billion package from SA to invest in the United States.

The Saudis have a strategic alignment with Israel. They both view Iran as their greatest threat to hegemonic dominance in the region. The Saudis secretly dislike Jewish people and Israel, but they don’t view them as significant of a threat as Iran.

This is why MBS is so opposed to Iran having nuclear weapons. He frames it as “no one in the Middle East should have them”…yet conviently glosses over the fact Israel possesses them. The Saudis view Israel as a proxy state. They play nice with Israel to receive support from America and to unite against the “real” threat (Iran)

I’ve always said Obama and Trump’s foreign policies are similar. I’m not surprised Obama’s closest foreign policy people like him. They hated Hillary and Biden and rightfully so because Obamas worst decisions usually were due to listening to them instead of himself. OBL raid was Obama, HRC and Biden refused because Pakistan is an ally.

Not trusting an ally or caring about the playbook is a Trump thing but it was also an Obama thing. He wasn’t a big fan of the EU either and thought Europe could participate more.

The Saudi royal family are Bedouin Jews. That’s why they don’t like Iran, Yemen, Palestinians, saddam because he was on to them. That’s why Americans kiss up to them. Everyone in the Middle East knows. It’s illegal to hold a Palestinian flag , for imams to say pray for Palestine or anyone to show any sort of public support for Palestine in Saudi Arabia.sounds just like Israel.

That’s also why Saudi Arabia killed khashoggi in the manner they did. He was very pro Palestinian.

Israel has 2 states in the Middle East given to them by the British. The posturing MBS does about not recognizing an Israeli state before Palestine is recognized is just posturing. They’ve already recognized Israel and Saudi Arabia was quietly helping Israel in the 1948 and 1967 Arab wars . They were shooting down planes and killing Egyptians and Yemenis and they were confused/didn’t know if. They assumed Saudi Arabia was on their side back then due to their verbal support

Iran is a threat much like Iraq was because they know the Saudi kingdom and Israel are tied to the hip/the same and wanted to overthrow both. The gulf war was about protecting Saudi Arabia, not Kuwait. The Yemeni war is a game of poking the bear to Saudi Arabia and Israel so it was shocking for Saudi/Israel to see trump compliment the Houthis and give up fighting

I’m half Jordanian (and half white American), but I’ve only been to the Middle East two times. The overwhelming majority of people there (including the relatives on my dads side of the family) would be deemed aggressive antisemites in America. They are extremely critical and distrustful of Jewish people. You’d be hard-pressed to find a pro-Israel person. They also overwhelmingly dislike Americans too. I’m not from the gulf, but the Saudi people I know are also critical of Jewish people and Americans

Having lived in Israel, you could say the exact same thing for the overwhelming majority of people there with respect to their views of Arabs and Muslims. In fact, it's much worse with the overwhelming majority of the population supporting ethnic cleansing or genocide.

They hate Arabs and Muslims and even Christians more than they hate the Germans. They even seem to blame Arabs for the Holocaust

Gee. What is Trump's take on Israel?

By siding with Qatar (Hamas) he is selling out Israel.

Trump owes no allegiance to Israel, he only needs to think of American interests.

Yes he does. Adelson and all the other rich Israelis funded his campaign with hundreds of millions of dollars and now he needs to return the favor.

Otherwise he could be blackmailed, just the way Clinton was blackmailed by Netanyahu. Wouldn't be surprised if you hear new Epstein stories come out soon.

At this point, not even Epstein tapes would hurt Trump. He is not trimming for a third term. He has made billions of dollars since becoming POTUS. SCOTUS has given him absolute immunity. He is a Teflon DON. He Jo linger has any cares, not even prison.
