Stunningly Impressive BASIS College Results

I don't see the purpose of this post. I know exceptional students at BASIS making reasonable decisions about their college path in light of astronomical costs. I am terrified for my student that will be going off to school in 4 years time and to think about what those campuses might look like given the attacks on academic freedom currently. Bloody Hell! Stop the bragging about the universities, the kids at BASIS have to endure enough stress.

You definitely could not find the same percentage of graduating kids at top schools. I think you forget that BASIS only has ~42 kids in its senior class. If JR sends the same number out of a graduating class in the hundreds (or whatever it is), that is NOT a similar outcome.

That's not what I wrote. I know how many kids are there. I am a parent.

You wrote that one could find “the same number” of kids going to top tier schools at other DCPS and charters.

I responded you can’t find the same percentage of kids from any graduating class and I stand by that.

That said, I don’t know how Walls did.

I also don’t know whether this is an unusually good year for BASIS or part of a new trend. I’m curious how the results compare to other BASIS charters — perhaps the brand name is catching on.

Isn’t School Without Walls sending approximately the same percentage of students to Ivies?

OMG stop with the comparisons.

Maybe- they have one or two Yale, Harvard, three or four to Brown, Cornell (not sure how many), UPenn (not sure how many).

Both Walls and Basis seem to be working out reasonably to fantastic well for deserving students.
