Palestinians Starving - What Can We Do?

You are all a bunch of bloodthirsty psychopaths.

Hamas is horrible. So Israel is horrible. So you hope Israel gets treated the same way. This will never end, you know.

I'm a Jew who went on Birthright and was staunchly pro-Israel all my life until the past two years. The blood of murdered Palestinians cries out for justice and the genocidal evil Israelis are doing is an affront to all the Jews murdered in European pogroms and the Holocaust. The Zionist Project must end and it will end only when it is destroyed. May I live to see it happen. There is nothing you can say that will sway me (and most of the world's population) from this position.

Hey, I agree with this statement entirely. The Zionist project should end.

What you expressed earlier is something else entirely?

What type of monster stands by and lets this stuff happen?

Hamas are monsters? Ok. Agreed.

The Israeli govt (and the people that support them) are bigger monsters in this situation.

DP.

The above will never persuade moderates (like me).

I’m a left-leaning independent (not Jewish) who supports a Palestinian state, deplores the Israeli government, and believes that US should act to prevent Israel from reoccupying Gaza.

But I will absolutely not support the elimination of Israel. The fact that this is central to the pro-Palestinian movement is anathema to a majority of Americans across the political spectrum.

You want to make political progress and help the Palestinians? Move to the middle ASAP.

If you don't believe in the dismantling of Israel as a political entity the same way that apartheid South Africa was dismantled, then you are a racist, no exceptions.

I'm the Jewish PP and I'm not pro-Palestinian. I'm anti-genocide, pro-justice, and pro-peace, which necessarily makes me anti-Israel and anti-Zionist. No peace is possible with that apartheid state's nonstop scheming and agitating to destabilize countries around it and capture world governments like the U.S. to prop up its atrocities.

It doesn't matter what you think because Israel will be the architect of its own demise as all hateful, anti-human regimes are. There was a time when it seemed the British empire, apartheid South Africa, Nazi Germany, Maoist China, and other horror regimes of the past would last forever. They all undid themselves and Israel will too. Israel has already singlehandedly united the world against it and is such a pariah state that no representative was at the pope's funeral. Beyond America, which it controls through its the Israel Lobby's antidemocratic and corrupt scheming, Israel has no supporters left. It has completely squandered the almost inexhaustible goodwill and concern the world had for Jewish people after World War II. The day will come when America will tell Israel to save itself the way Trump has told the EU and then it will be over.

And if you believe in the elimination of the state of Israel under the current circumstances, you’re calling for an ethnic cleansing at best, a genocide at worst.

In short, you’re a hypocrite. You want to replace one atrocity with another.

And this is why you will never win the support of a majority of Americans, and why your movement will continue to be marginalized.

Guess you don’t want a solution—you want your side to win.

How exactly does one move to the middle on genocide and apartheid? You middle of the road people are morons. The middle isn't always some enlightened position. Often, it means advocating for half measures against actual evil. How much evil is acceptable for you so you can feel reasonable?

South Africa still exists as a country and South Africans of all races, religions, and ethnicities still live there. But people somehow want all the non-Muslim Israelis to … leave? Disappear? Move to Europe or South America or …? And it’s just not going to happen. If you want “apartheid Israel” to end, it would mean the Palestinians denouncing Hamas, terrorism, and extremism, and agreeing to live as law-abiding Israeli citizens in a largely secular society - like the approximately 1/3 of Arab Israelis who enjoy the same freedoms as every other Israeli citizen. And yes, the hardliners in the Israeli government would have to agree to this as well and if they didn’t, the Israeli people and people internationally would need to condemn them. But that’s how we get to one Israel because the people who already live there aren’t leaving, that’s a non-starter.

I agree with what you said, with one exception: I’ve become firmly indifferent now as to the fate of Israel, the state. That feeling of indifference is increasing daily amongst Anericans.

If Israel undergoes massive structural and cultural reform, and in the process figures out a long-term plan to peacefully coexist with its neighbors, I’m fine with that. Otherwise, I don’t really care what happens to the state itself. I care only that individuals have a “right to exist”.

But the propagandized “right to exist” has been wrongly applied to the state by radical, extremist Zionists. That was done to brainwash individuals like you into going along with a knee-jerk view that guarantees statehood for Israel when we don’t even have that guarantee here in the U.S. It was done to manipulate you.

Israel has no right to exist, just like the U.S. (and every other country) has no right to exist. Whether Israel exists should depend on their policies and actions. Right now, even though change is possible, it ain't looking too likely.

The state of Israel is NOT the Jewish people. They can stay there. What they can't do is continue ethnically cleansing the region to further entrench a racist apartheid state where anyone not Jewish is a second class citizen.

You're a racist and a monster.

The fact that you would call someone with that perspective a racist and a monster illustrates the problem with your movement perfectly.

The regime and the state are 2 rather different things. Try running a poll on how many Americans support the elimination of the state of Israel. I guarantee you’d get less than 20% support.

The very first principle of international law is state sovereignty.

In general, I’m strongly in favor of that rule.
