Why hasn't William and Mary gotten rid of its DEI yet?

That’s exactly what being against “DEI” is about. It means treating *everyone* equally and fairly, with dignity and decency. Not just certain people.

You seem very confused.

Exactly. DEI is just organizational racism.

Inclusion is racist. How so?

Because DEI as implemented has 0 to do with inclusion; it’s all about separating and judging people by race.

Inclusion is separation?

Is this sort of like "War is peace" or "freedom is slavery?"

Or is this just some weird hangup of yours where you feel personally threatened by policies like this because you think you're a good person but really you are not and you haven't overcome the cognitive dissonance necessary to change that?

More mental illness on display…

Spoken like someone who’s had no actual meaningful involvement in diversity and inclusion work.

Nice oxymoron!

What a ridiculous statement.

DP. That statement is 100% correct. We are all human beings. There is no need to continue sorting by race and pointing out our differences. Let’s focus on our similarities.

No it’s not. It’s a public state university.

And yet, it’s definitely LAC adjacent. It’s a unicorn— very unique for public university.

It’s really not. I understand that you believe this, but it is not “LAC adjacent.”

It really is. I understand that you don't believe this, but it is "LAC adjacent."

I agree with the PP. It’s far too big to be “LAC adjacent.” Does it have liberal arts? Sure - as do most other universities.

PP said LAC adjacent, not SLAC adjacent.

The oppositional trolls are annoying AF.

“Diversity is strength” sounds way more Orwellian

Also, what are you talking about?

Wow. Didn't know this would strike such a cord. I was just curious, I'm not against DEI at all. I think diversity has been proven to be beneficial for institutions of all sorts and that DEI is a crucial part of ensuring diversity. I was just wondering why it is the case that other Virginia universities have gotten rid of their DEI programs while William and Mary hasn't.

You started a very trollish and argumentative way. It seemed like you were a trump troll who approves of discrimination

DP. DEI is the epitome of discrimination. Everyone should be included, regardless of their color of their skin.

Why yes. That is what “inclusion” means.

So have W&M quite a few giving males preference and have them become 70/30 female? I’m okay with that. I don’t want a less qualified DEI male taking DD’s seat.

DEI is just the latest MAGA boogeyman. Actual facts don’t matter.

Anonymous wrote:Oh FFS. Here is W&M’s “Diversity & Inclusion” webpage. Please tell me exactly what “DEI program” you disapprove of or believe is illegal.

https://www.wm.edu/offices/diversity/

And since you won’t read the links and hate immigrants, my (American Citizen) DD is in “Global Village”. It has nothing to do with foreign students. It’s living in a language immersion environment for student majoring in a foreign language. Next year, rather than housing them separately, they have a space to house them together on one floor in a new dorm. This makes sense, because the houses collaborate on programming (super offensive stuff like “International Dessert Night,” etc). Remembering this is a lot of IR kids who traditionally go into government service and many of the foreign languages are designated “critical” because the government cannot fine enough security clearable fluent speakers for national security, diplomatic and business needs. And immersion is crucial to language acquisition.

So I’ll debunk that one. What else? What here is illegal even under Trumps illegal EO?

Not one response from the anti-DEI trash.

Fckers have zero critical thinking skills.

No one is asking the really important question here: IS W&M WOKE? (/s obviously).

+1. They are incredibly pissed W&M has one webpage called “Diversity & Inclusion,” but can find zero “offensive” “illegal” or “woke” material on this page. But OMG! The Title! Can’t Cope!

You realize it was created because that wasn’t happening. I realize that wasn’t happening to your Cracker Barrel kid, but to plenty of others, yes. That said, it is kids like yours that stand to learn the most from it.

DEI is a broad, ambiguous term and concept, which may be manifested or implemented quite differently. W&M indicated it would comply with applicable laws, just as it did after the Supreme Court ruling in Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. v. President & Fellows of Harvard College.
