About to graduate from the University of Michigan Ross school and still jobless

Having that degree is more important than a job.

“1. Please use the proper form of "your" if you are insulting someone else. I am not alone in judging people's intelligence based on their grammar usage. We all make typos. I'm guessing this is not. Though it might be auto-correct. But I doubt it.”

I’ve typed hundreds of posts here at DCUM. Most of them are grammatically correct. Every once in a while
I let an error slip past me. That anyone bases anyone else’s intelligence on one mistake in a long posting says a lot more about their own lack of awareness. I suggest you take YOUR own advise by not, “over-reacting” to messages on an opinion board.

One more thing, although it should be more than obvious to a person of YOUR intelligence, is that the letter e is directly located to the left of the letter r on a keyboard. Take a wild guess what happened when I quickly typed out that message.

OP is frustrated and worried, have some sympathy.

I’m just curious why your child doesn’t appear to be looking for jobs outside of the DMV? If he/she went to Michigan, why not look for jobs in NYC, Chicago, or the west coast? According to what I just read, that’s where the vast majority of Ross graduates end up.

Well, the s isn't that close to the c, so what happened here?

Is the errant comma also just a typo? Hmmm.

OP hasn’t been back all day and this post—particularly the “shouldn’t have spent so much when UVA is in-state”—is closely related to another active thread on NEU vs Michigan vs UVA. So I agree with others that this seems like a troll post.

He could have done community college plus UVA and trader that $150k+ into a million already. He would have no problem getting a job after that.

OP, I think the problem is that the economy sucks more than it is that the degree sucks. Hang in there.

Anonymous wrote:Why the hell did he go to Michigan if he was instate for UVA? That makes no sense. That was a dumb decision on your part.

Because someone thought it was more prestigious.

Oh well, obviously no one cares he went to UMich.

Yeah, dumb.

DMV job market is rough now. So many Feds with experience looking for jobs.

The government also has a hiring freeze. Look in Michigan or other large metropolitan areas.

Lessons here is don’t go for prestige. Just get a college degree. Really.

He has not even graduated yet.

Stop catastrophizing. It is the last thing your kid needs.

He got an education, and will get a job.
