Go Bernie Go AOC

Let's not forget Republicans also control a majority of the Governor's seats. The problem Democrat nominees are going to have, is that they won't have a record to run on. I mean they already had an albatross around their necks from this past go round.
The only places people will be able to see substantive legislation or executive actions will be in these few blue states. Personally, I won't be voting blue unless and until I see some substantive roll backs of sanctuary nonsense in some large proportion of blue states and importantly to me a consensus that H-1b programs are just fraud. Bernie's willingness to debate H-1b is awesome, but are they really going to do anything about it besides play wedgie games? They have argued that this isn't very important, but it's Democrat litmus test. Aren't they supposed to be the party that is responsive to voting? Sure, doesn't look like it to me. Oh, and Bernie isn't even a Democrat. Are they really just going to run last year's pro-globalization Techbro platform. Don't forget all those techbros have been a feature of the Democrat party for the better part of twenty years. Sure, I'd love an anti-techbro platform, but last year's Democrat platform wasn't it.

NP. I like the enthusiasm and numbers but man those are some very white and very old audiences.

Well Kamala brought a lot of black voters and that wasn’t enough. No one is going to vote Bernie in, I don’t think, he’s against capitalism. AOC seems very sane and speaks her mind instead of trying to ‘get’ votes. So I would totally vote for her. But I doubt she would win anything.

Democrats are driven by women these days but it seems the larger populace really won’t vote in a woman as president. That’s the issue.

Wake up!! Identity politics is not the issue. It’s finding a candidate who speaks to the people and what they NEED. It doesn’t matter if it’s a woman or man or POC. Stop focusing on identity. Hillary and Kamala lost because they were ultimately boring establishment candidates (despite being female and a POC). Trump was viewed as a change agent.

It appears to be impossible for Democrats not to focus on identity. I agree with you, but I don’t believe the party has the ability to move past identity as the only thing it cares about.

How, specifically did Kamala Harris focus on identity?

By dropping out of the Democratic primary and then not running in the 2023 primary but ending up the nominee anyway.

Dp here. This makes no sense. She dropped out of the primary because she didn’t have the numbers to keep going. She was relatively unknown at the time, and she wasn’t polished enough for a campaign of that scale. It was not her time. Not sure if you’ve noticed, but her resume has grown since then.

Of course she wasn’t going to primary Biden. Give me a break.

She was leaps and bounds more qualified than Trump and Vance put together. It is very telling when people say she wasn’t qualified but never say the same about the reality tv host and his unknown/inexperienced peon friend.

Need more centrist leaders in the party to get it back. Going far left with these fools will alienate even more voters and Dems will lose even worse next election.

Because centrists like Clinton and Harris fared so well?

Trump was a DEI hire. He's a dysfunctional nepo baby who got out of military service because his daddy got a doctor who rented from him to diagnose fake bone spurs. Donald is a phony businessman who inherited a real estate empire from his daddy but still kept running business after business into the ground going bankrupt, never had anyone tell him no, multiple felon who got break after break after break when any normal person would have been in jail long ago.

I can't stand Trump or the way he operates. He's a belligerent, rude New Yorker. Nonetheless, he's not a DEI hire. DEI programs, depts, and policies were not created to help white males.

Nepotism and money is the original DEI. Did you think Trump got into Wharton because he’s smart?

That was not diversity or inclusion or equity at that time, and you know it. It's like the Bushes, Kennedys, etc. It was a white, connected world and usually male. That's why DEI was developed.

There was no diversity, no equity and it was a small club and you and I weren't part of it. The inclusion part was that once you were in the good ole boys network you were in, no matter how inept, mediocre or incompetent. We still see that today in corporate boards and the C class. And we definitely see that with Trump and Musk.

NP. So many people are asking the wrong questions and missing the whole issue.

So much hand wringing about what races and genders are represented among boys club/C suite/robber barons.

Who TF cares? Why do we care what races and genders are represented among SOCIAL STRUCTURES THAT SHOULD NOT EXIST IN THE FIRST PLACE.
As if extreme wealth inequality would BE FINE as long as different races and genders were proportionally represented across all wealth groups?

That’s what makes DEI so dumb. So much focus on gender and skin color. We should not worry about “boys clubs” admitting other races and genders to its ranks; clearly the “boys clubs” do not measure merit in the same way you or I do. They really just need to be eliminated.

And yet, somehow, she was the most qualified person running in 2024.

Name her top three successes.

Harris was a centrist? That's news to me. Good luck with AOC and Bernie!
