Need more centrist leaders in the party to get it back. Going far left with these fools will alienate even more voters and Dems will lose even worse next election.

I'll bite. What SPECIFICALLY AND EXACTLY that you think they are saying is "too far left" and "alienating"?

Provide recent, specific and relevant citations.

Deliver, or screw off. I mean, seriously.

AOC has vocally supported federal protections for gender-affirming care, calling for its inclusion in any universal healthcare plan during a December 2024 livestream, while condemning state bans on transgender youth healthcare as "cruel and unscientific." Sanders, in a January 2025 Senate speech, backed expanding Medicare to cover all gender-affirming treatments, framing it as a matter of equity and bodily autonomy. Also both have tied racial justice to their economic agenda. In November 2024, AOC endorsed the "Breathe Act", pushing to defund police and redirect resources to Black communities for mental health and housing, while Sanders, at a March 2025 Las Vegas rally, called for ending cash bail and decriminalizing nonviolent offenses to address systemic racism, explicitly linking these reforms to dismantling "oppressive structures" impacting Black lives. Their rhetoric and policy proposals reflect a far-left stance prioritizing systemic upheaval over moderation.

I have no doubt those policies would be great ones for winning the next presidential election! Would be a big hit with mainstream voters! Maybe serve Bud Lite at rallies!

Preaching to the choir does not garner more converts to your religion.

We need to wrestle the means of production from the greedy capitalist hands of the bourgeoise and only AOC & the Bern are capable of leading that fight.

This is the hill you want to die on? I’m more concerned about the cost of living and social security. Gender affirming care is rich people’s problems.

+1 honestly, I'm not left wing at all (Independent former R), but gender affirming care is like #1,000,000 on the things to worry about. However, I will say that AOC focusing on this is also a waste of time. This impacts like .001% of the population. It's great that they stand up and have compassion for the marginalized, but really, this is not something to focus on, for AOC or for the general public.

Even so, if she and Bernie are the only Dems pushing against Trump and doing townhalls, then yea, I support that.

You are really out of it. You are the fool. Centrist leaders? Like who? Kamala was a centrist. So was Hillary. And they lost. The people want change. Until you wake up and realize that and get on board, Dems will keep on losing.

NP. I like the enthusiasm and numbers but man those are some very white and very old audiences.

Well Kamala brought a lot of black voters and that wasn’t enough. No one is going to vote Bernie in, I don’t think, he’s against capitalism. AOC seems very sane and speaks her mind instead of trying to ‘get’ votes. So I would totally vote for her. But I doubt she would win anything.

Democrats are driven by women these days but it seems the larger populace really won’t vote in a woman as president. That’s the issue.

But if Bernie and AOC cannot attract the young and non-white, it doesn’t matter how many stadiums they fill. And the issue is that the young and non-white have turned against the Democrats.

I love seeing the enthusiasm, nice to see some actual attempts to counter Trump, but those crowds don’t move the needle electorally.

Wake up!! Identity politics is not the issue. It’s finding a candidate who speaks to the people and what they NEED. It doesn’t matter if it’s a woman or man or POC. Stop focusing on identity. Hillary and Kamala lost because they were ultimately boring establishment candidates (despite being female and a POC). Trump was viewed as a change agent.

It appears to be impossible for Democrats not to focus on identity. I agree with you, but I don’t believe the party has the ability to move past identity as the only thing it cares about.

This IS leadership.

It's what the fringes of a party are there for.

What does that mean exactly? That Republicans will finally stop attacking people based on identity so Democrats won't need to defend people anymore?

That’s not the issue. The issue is the DNC establishment. They need to go and coastal elites like DCUM posters need to stop thinking we know what’s best for the party. They clearly do not. We need an economic populist who is a good communicator and who is authentic. That’s much more AOC than any of the candidates I hear suggested on here.

True but the thing is, in order to be given a fair shot at gaining top ranking executive power in our Federal Government, AOC and/or Bernie will have to drop their anti-capitalism and pro closing the wealth divide rhetoric. No way in heck one of our major political parties will allow someone like them to piss off their mega-donors. We've seen Bernie get shut down by the DNC in past elections and the same holds true for AOC.

Politicians like Bernie and AOC are stuck between a rock (their personal integrity) and a hard place (playing nice with big money in order to gain power).

How, specifically did Kamala Harris focus on identity?

How does someone else's medical treatment harm you? And in the "breathe" bill there wasn't any specific "defund" dollar amount because the bill never got anywhere in debate. As for Bernie why do we need to throw someone in jail for smoking weed on their porch?
