I actually think it's important for leaders to defend their principles, rather than lying and spinning the truth to get votes. |
Is the far left in the room with us right now? |
Highly divisive and consequently counterproductive. |
These two brave and selfless leaders must rise to become the vanguard of the new revolution, and all must dedicate themselves to support them. The workers have nothing to lose but their chains. |
Bernie knows the path forward. He will take the party back to being the Party of Labor. But he needs to hand the baton to someone younger. Sen. Bernie Sanders, in 2015, emphasized the need for limits on immigration. He decried open borders as a "Koch brothers proposal," referring to the billionaire libertarians who believe almost nothing should restrict businesses. Open Borders would "make a lot of Americans poorer" and lead to a glut of desperate people who'd "work for $2 or $3 an hour." Multiple peer-reviewed studies have confirmed the validity of their concerns, and proven that a massive expansion of the labor pool drives down wages, especially for minority workers. So it's no wonder that ordinary voters, including those on the left, support measures to ensure that jobs only go to Americans and legal immigrants. For instance, 58% of Democrats want to "mandate that all employers use the federal electronic E-Verify system to help ensure that they hire only legal workers for U.S. jobs," according to a Rasmussen poll taken in late March." |
This is the hill you want to die on? I’m more concerned about the cost of living and social security. Gender affirming care is rich people’s problems. |
Yeah, they aren’t forcing anyone to have sex changes, they’re just letting the care be covered for those that want it. Its about bodily autonomy. Women will also have coverage for their reproductive needs.
How about we cut the coverage of Viagra? Since medical care is up for general votes now. Penile implants? Testosterone? All of those are covered. |
Worked for Trump. Play to people’s feelings instead of intellectual reason. |
I do too. Walz is trying as well. |
I have exactly one piece of artwork in my house that captures the image of a person. It’s a 3-d printed Bernie in the classic arms and legs crossed pose from the first dump inauguration. He’s perched on my window frame in my kitchen and greets me every morning as I pour my coffee.
I haven’t been following aoc but will start. Bernie, however, is my fav. Keep fighting the good fight. |
Well Kamala brought a lot of black voters and that wasn’t enough. No one is going to vote Bernie in, I don’t think, he’s against capitalism. AOC seems very sane and speaks her mind instead of trying to ‘get’ votes. So I would totally vote for her. But I doubt she would win anything. Democrats are driven by women these days but it seems the larger populace really won’t vote in a woman as president. That’s the issue. |
Me too! |
You Democrats don't get it, do you?
I think Bernie is a nice person. A cute, sweet old man. His ideas are nuts. I view him as that eccentric uncle who has lots of silly ideas, lovable but from left field. Remember, he went to the Soviet Union for his honeymoon. AOC is flat out unlikable. She's a screamer, reminds me of Hitler clips. She exemplifies everything that is wrong with the Democratic Party right now. She is a Progressive who is all about encouraging illegal immigration. She is probably funded by the likes of Soros in the background. |
i dont know if you have noticed- but 'moderation' and the status quo are not popular. that is why most peopl are o with the currunt administrayion dismantelling the government. peopel want radical change- the bernies and aocs of teh world woudl bring about sdaid change whilst preserving the writ of habeus corpus, and the bill of rights (even the 2nd amendment, with some protectiosn in place) conservatives/moderates are outnumbered b/c they are the people who are doing well- the top 10% of americans who own 50% of teh assets and the rest of the 90% of americans are in debt and in trouble. that leaves maybe a group of 20% of americans who are moderates?? |
I have no doubt those policies would be great ones for winning the next presidential election! Would be a big hit with mainstream voters! Maybe serve Bud Lite at rallies! |
