Dump Chuck Schumer

Anonymous
If Dems replace Schumer with AOC then trump and republicans hit the ultimate jackpot that will pay dividends for decades. Dems couldn’t make a worse move.

I agree with this. I don't think he's very effective overall, but this is the right call.

I listened to his floor speech and his Chris Hayes interview and he completely convinced me. This is a Biden administration budget and we need to be talking about why the Republicans just voted for a bill with funding for things no longer operating.

This establishment creature is behaving as if everything is normal as Trump craps on our allies, cozies up to authoritarian criminals, ignores ethics laws and dismantles federal agencies. And now this vote to support the Republican budget which has no clear logic.

Dump Chuck and find a minority leader for the Democrats who can lead the party into an effective resistance to the chaos and stupidity of the Trump administration.

Resistance is futile. What we need are better policies and candidates for the future.

Nope. We also need people who can elaborate and REPRESENT now. As well as in the future.

It’s done. Democrats are the problem. We have no representation in this government or this country. I am so upset but I know there is no hope.

Republicans are creating this. Democrats resisting or not is not the central problem.

Putin has provided Russians with bunkers. Except for the COG fraternity/sorority, we peon Americans don't even have foxholes.

This was all true yesterday when Schumer announced that the Dems would not support the CR. It makes me sick to think about it but something happened in the ensuing 24 hours. This is very bad.

Perhaps he read my post here that Trump wants Schumer to shut things down.

You think you're the only one who knew this?

How much does the federal government give?

Not the issue. They are punishing DC children for no reason at all. Keeping them from receiving our city's own tax dollars.

That's just it, are they your city's own tax dollars?
Is the federal government providing a million dollars, a billion dollars, a trillion dollars, makes quite a bit of difference.

I doubt you actually care, but the vast majority of the 1 billion is LOCAL and is coming from the current FY budget Congress itself approved last year.

If anyone were really concerned about federal dollars in DC, the GOP could have carved that out instead of an across the board cut they have never done before.

It's cruel, short-sighted, and will hasten the coming intentional economic collapse.

Do you feel any less smug now?

Me too. I almost feel like the complete lack of inaction is more than meets the eye. We know the "president" behaves like a mafia boss-whats going on behind the scenes. We also know he's owned by Russia. I trust nothing at this point but goodness knows we need a hero. and we needed it yesterday.

agree...but still concerned about why there is not more noise. We need more Larson yelling followed by action.

Nothing dump does is "brilliant" Evil and corrupt but not brilliant.

Schumer holds his position primarily because of his fundraising ability. That was fine eight years ago when Trump wasn’t actually accomplishing much, the Dems were much more organized, and Pelosi was there to provide the brains. But he’s clearly unfit to lead the Dems in present circumstances.

What’s shocking to me is the Dems had weeks of advance notice about the CR and never developed an opposition strategy. If the Dems are going to trigger a shutdown they need to agree on a message and a counter-proposal. That the Dems had neither is on Schumer.

Because they intend to keep shutting the government down illegally, anyway. Stand up and fight for the love of god.

The Dem position is now: “what leverage?” They’ve capitulated entirely. Surrendered and are retreating to regroup for September, but the country won’t be the same by September.

Schumer caved. Trump won.

Remove the part where they remove 1b from the DC budget, and they are still cutting spending so is not the Budget Budget.
